My boyfriend and I had sex a few times last week and i just switched my pills about a week before that so i know those probably werent protecting me well. Also its the mini pill so it says you will have break through bleeding the first couple of months. Anyways, he used a condom and also pulled out with a condom. abotu 2 days after this I got what seemed to be my peroid and i have had it and still have it for about 4 days now which feels like a period maybe a very very less heavy but i think thats from chaning b/c pills (since the 31) i get worried about things and was like lets just make sure the condoms had no holes.. well seems like only one and the tinyest whole in it. What are my chances of acutally being pregnant even though i had what seemed to be my period. Please no rude answeers i am old enough to know and to be having sex. Thanks everyone! Ok so my sister in law is prego 27 weeks , she didnt find out she was pregnant until she was 15 weeks or atleast that is what she says.... Anyways I know she drank during the time she was pregnant because i was with her but she denies she ever drank anything, she is 23 so I dunno why she would deny it and we all know she didnt know she was pregnant at the time. Anyway she got assistance to cover her but because of hurricane ike she had to wait for another month before being able to see a doctor THEN after that happened she had problems with the Insurance Company so now she is 27 weeks and FINALLY seeing a doctor , she was smart enough to start prenatal when she found out . Anyway she had her blood drawn when she was 17 weeks and the test came back positive that the baby could have down syndrom or spinal bifida but she is in denial , she keeps telling me NO the baby doesnt have that , the doctor started seeing her every 2 weeks , I went to the same doctor and he didnt start seeing me every 2 weeks until I was like 31 or 32 weeks so I found this odd. Anyone have any info about this test and what it could mean ?

My friend and I are both pregnant, but she is 5 weeks less than me. She felt her baby kick her ribcage at around 4 months. I haven't felt this at all, and I'm 31 weeks. Is this normal? i am very petite and small,but i have big babies at term,my babies were 8 and 9 pounds,12 and 10 years ago,i am currently pregnant at almost 31 weeks and had ultrasound today,i was worried about how big she will be,i have been miserable for 2 weeks now(groin pain from her head).........well,2 weeks ago they said,2lbs 10 ounces and today they guesstamated not quite 4 pounds!! ....how accurate are their estimates?

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and i started having contractions last week and now i'm on Brethine every 4 hours. I was reading the precautions and it says it's not reccomended to stop labor because of the risk to mother and newborn. What are these risks??? I've looked it up, and can't find any info on it. Okay.. im almost 31 weeks pregnant and Me and my husband live in Georgia. We went home on leave to Mass. (Big temputure change) When we left GA it was 77 degrees and while we were up in Mass it was 5 degrees... Now were back home in 70/80 degree weather and I'm getting sick... and im a little afraid. When I breathe My nose weezes..I feel like this "cold" is all down my throat and when I cough very little mucus comes up.. So im wondering if the temp. change can really make me sick or just give me a simple cold. What does this sound like to you? Thank you!!

thanks for everyone that answered and heres a little more info for those who asked for it...the problem i am having is i started my period dec 16th late at night but there was very little there i wasn't until the next day that i got it fully..and my period for nov was the 16th so if i put the 16th of dec in my ovulation calander it would make my cycle 30 days and i might have missed but if i put in the 17th it makes my cycle 31 days and i hit...i know i will find out in another week or so we are just a little on the impatient side...lol and are wondering what are chances are that i am pregnant...i know about checking for the mucus and that it should be sticky and i am sure that i didn't get it before we had sex on the 4th..and thanks for everyones help

I am 31 weeks pregnant and i cant sleep on my left hand side.I end up turning on my right hand side or on my back.Am i harming my baby if i am not on my left side when i sleep?Is there any way that i can force myself to sleep on my left and stay like that for the rest of the night?

I had the Mirena IUD for 3 years. It expelled Nov 20. I had 2 bouts of bleeding, one looked more like a period and the second one was very heavy with large clots. The week of clotting was the first week of December. I went forward 28 days from the first day of second bleeding spell to try to get an idea of when I may start, which was Dec 31. Of course I didn't start by then. On Jan 1 I was cramping (felt like menstrual cramping) Still didn't start. Took a test and it was positive. Worried about possible ectopic pregnancy. My ovary feels like its hurting on the left side. I have had cysts before but don't know if this is what it is. I am not bleeding or spotting. Anyone had one before? Is the pain similar to a ovarian cyst? Worried that maybe since I became pregnant so quickly after expulsion that implantation may have not occurred in the right place

I've been on Y!A in the Newborn and Baby section for over a year now (lost track, LOL) and I've asked a lot of questions and become "sort-of" friends with a few of you... Anyway, for those who don't know me, I am a 31 y/o single mother to a beautiful almost 9 month old baby girl. She is the light of my life and I am truly passionate about her well being in every aspect. I make her baby foods at home from scratch, I have read every book there is on Immunizations or anything I can find that may affect her well being down the road. (Yes I have a lot of free time as I am a disabled veteran and can not work). My big problem is her father. Well, that's not fair, honestly, things could be a lot worse, but I still want what's best for her. He insisted I have an abortion when I found out I was pregnant (new relationship - our 2nd timd sleeping together - the condome broke). He got downright mean and threatening for a while and honestly scared me quite a bit. I, at 30 y/o was not about to have an abortion, and I already knew I loved her so much in my heart. He made my life extremely difficult for the entire 40 weeks I was pregnant. He didn't want anything to do with me or the baby. I told him that was fine but he needed to make a decision. He could sign his paternal rights away and never be heard from again, I would never ask him for a dime, and our child would be raised thinking she was conceived from a sprem bank or whatever I decided to tell her in the future. OR... he could be her father, visitation, child support, etc. Well, he was wishy washy the entire time. One week he told me he wanted to sign his rights away to her, the next he wasn't sure. Finally, a week before my scheduled C-section I called him to ask for his final decision (becasue in CT a father can not sign away paternal rights until at least 48 hours after the birth of the child) and he shocked me by saying now he thought he wanted to be a part of the baby's life. (99.9% of me still believes he was waiting to make sure she was born healthy before deciding - which makes me sick to my stomach just to think about!) Anyway, our daugther was born on April 9th, a beautiful, happy, healthy little girl I named Avary. He told me he wanted a paternity test (even though we knew the exact time and date of conception - he knew he was/is her father) so I did not put any name on her birth certificate as her father. Since her birth he has been visiting her about 2 times a week and paying some child support. By his own words, and by my experience and the words of his sister and mother, he is irresponsible, immature and unstable. He has never initiated a paternity test and still has not persued getting his name on the birth cert. He lies to me continuously about all kinds of random things... but I do believe he loves our Avary. Well, he has been doing apartment share/ house share situations for the past several years (mostly to avoid the IRS and other debt collectors). About 2 months ago he moved out of his last house share and for about a month was homeless - he bounced from firend's couch to friend's couch, then a few weeks ago he moved into the same home with his sister and mother (something he swore he would never do becasue "someone would end up dead"). He told me it was temporary but I had a feeling there was more to it becasue all his family relationships are strained... to say the least. Throughout the past 9 months of Avary's life I have heard countless stories from him and his sister - even his mother about how horribly they all get along and how everyone is always yelling at eachother, not to mention the fact that the other brother, who visit's occasionally, molested the sister who lives in the house. The sister and the mother are both on medication for bipolar disorder and Avary's father may soon be as well. Needless to say, it is not a stable, safe, secure environment for my daughter to spend any time in without me. (I do bring her down to visit them quite often, though). Well, today, Avary's father sprung it on me that he wants to start the process of overnight visitation. (I know this is also being prompted by his mother and sis who want overnight visitations too) I told him no, she is too young to understand that and we actually managed to have a civil conversation about the whole thing. I told him most of my concerns (I laid out most of them here in this question - I know it's long, sorry). I told him I had planned to start this Spring allowing him to take her for a couple hours to the park or something like that to give him some time alone with her but definitely no overnight visits yet. She has never spent one night away from me (we co-sleep) and I do Attachment Parenting and I feel it would be too traumatic for her to all of a sudden stay overnight with anyone besides me. Besides, he could not co-sleep with her becasue he has terrible sleep apnea and also does not and also

for some reason, lately im scared about this... i have the biggest gut feeling that this baby is coming soon. what do i do?? i feel so afraid all of a sudden... im very happy about this whole thing but lately im just terrified :( any advice

Ok, so i am supposed to be 27 weeks and 5 days pregnant, but when i went in for my doctors appointment today i was measuring at 31 weeks. I have had two ultra sounds, one at 8 weeks, and one at 20 weeks, and both went with the same due date. But, when i was only 25 weeks, i was having contractions and had to go to the hospital to stop them with a shot and a pill. Also, i recently started gaining weight very fast! Not anywhere but the stomach though. Before i got pregnant i only weighed 115, and now i have gained 35 lbs, 20 of it within the last month and a half. I have been tested for gestational diabetes and i dont have it. Also my only weight is in my stomach, everywhere else im still the same size except for my boobs. Now, the doctor wants me to get an ultra sound because i am measuring out to be 31 weeks. Does anyone think i could be having my baby earlier than expected. Also i have a family history of having preemies. My dad was born at 33 weeks, and I was born at 34. Even my sister was born at 35 weeks. So what do you think my chances are for having my baby early? And when should i expect her? Oh and also, my last period was in early May.

I found out Dec 31 that I was about 4 1/2 weeks pregnant. I had some blood work done a week before Dec 24, my progesterone levels came back at 10. She said it was kinda low so she gave me progesterone suppositories. 3 days after taking them I had some more blood work done to test progesterone and HcG. Today they came back with progest. at 23.9 and HcG 1000 something. The nurse said this was ok... what do you think? But what I am wondering is why she wants me to come in for a sono this week when they orignally had me set up for next week?? are my hcg levels low???

So i took a test because i started bleeding and it came out positive BUT I STARTED My period which came a week early. IT Came on cycle day 23 and i am usually a 31 day cycle. CAN ANyone tell me what could be going on should i be concerned????????? the bleeding is moderate and red

Okay. So let me start with background. I was on the generic form of the b/c pill NOR-QD (mini pill) from 6 weeks after my daughter's birth (roughly mid-July 2004) until this past August. I went off the pill for several reasons. One -- I was forgetting to take pills or taking them late and was starting to get breakthru bleeding/periods when for the previous years I'd had NO period. Two -- I was going to be dropped from my father's insurance due to graduating college. Three -- I'm getting married in August of this year and wanted to have a regular period back by that time as my fiance and I are planning to TTC fairly soon afterward. I got my first period after going off the pill on August 25th. My cycles have been as follows: 36 days 34 days 31 days Today is day 35 and I have yet to get my period, although I have felt some slight cramping most of the week this week. I realize it can take 6+ months to become regular, but going on my last cycle, I'm about 4 days late for my period at this point. My fiance and I do have unprotected sex; however, he has never finished inside of me. I know this is not foolproof. I took a HPT Saturday and it came back negative. So my question is this: with the information about when I went off b/c, the pattern of my cycles, and information about my sexual activity -- should I continue to be concerned about a possible pregancy? Or has my cycle just not regulated itself yet? How "irregular" should I expect my periods to be? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

my youngest is only 10 months for the last two weeks i have been getting alot of really strong braxton hicks and coming more and more has anyone else had this i keep getting back they make me stop for a min they are getting worse

Ok... here's my story.... October 22 was my last period. Ever since then I have had NO blood what so ever. I cramp around the time my period is due but NO blood!!! just sometimes white discharge which I find to be quite disgusting! It has no odor or itch it just comes out. Also... I had unprotected sex on October 31 twice but I had just came off the birth control pill 3 weeks prior. I was told from different people that comin off the pill makes u more prone to become pregnant because ur horomones are at a higher level... i'm not sure with the truth behind that... I tested once a week ago and it was negative... i've heard of girls not getting their positive til a few months into pregnancy... i feel i have been having symptoms but i do realize that sometimes you're mind plays tricks... my belly bloats and it looks like i'm pregnant but my it goes away. my friend told me when she was pregnant it happened to her and it was called pregnancy bloating.. any body have ANY helpful advice or personal experiences which you can relate?? i'm really trying to be patient and wait because it could be out of whack b/c of the birth control BUT BUT BUT i had a normal period AFTER getting off the birth control that is wat worries me

Hello everyone, We TTC two weeks ago during my most fertile days which were from Friday, December 26, 2008 to Wednesday, December 31, 2008. We started having intercourse since the 20th till the 26th every day, we stopped for couple of days and tried again on January 1st and 2nd. These are the things I've been experiencing in the last week: - Headaches (I've never dealt with headaches every day for few days, till now). - Lower back pain. - Over sentimental (I started crying all of the sudden one night). - Fluttering/bubbly feeling in my uterus/pelvic area. - Exhaustion! - Fatigue (soon after I move/walk around). - Mild cramps. - Sleep longer. - Pin needling pains by my ovaries/uterus. - Gassy (embarrassing I know). I took a pregnancy test yesterday in the morning, because I am absolutely curious about being pregnant or not, but the E.P.T. pregnancy test came out as: Not Pregnant. Did I take the test too early or I'm not pregnant at all? Cause if I'm not then I will wait till next year because we want a Libra baby, and start Birth Control asap. My last period started on December 15th 2008 until the 19th of December 2008. My OB/GYN gave me the green light 2 months ago, after having a 2nd miscarriage in August. I've been taking prenatal vitamins ever since. I've had just about all the symptoms I'm dealing with atm with my previous pregnancy, except I tend to start feeling breast sensitivity after not getting my expected period. Thankfully, I've always had great luck getting pregnant right away after trying the first time. But since we've had 2 miscarriages and really want this baby, I'm very anxious to know whether we really are pregnant or not. Any thoughts on my pregnancy test? I'm hoping it was too early to test. I also would like to know if some of you have taken an early negative pregnancy test which turned out positive days/weeks later (?).

(I asked this before but didn't get any answers) First of all, I am 31 weeks pregnant For the last four days, every single time I eat anything my stomach goes crazy! Either I have diarrhea or I just get really gassy, but no matter what I get these horrible cramps in my stomach and they haven't gone away at all. I've had them nonstop since Friday morning I've tried taking Pepto-Bismol but that didn't help any. I really wish I had some idea as to what is causing my stomach to go crazy all weekend long, and how to get rid of it. I don't want to feel like this when I have to go back to work (they sent me home early on Friday because I was too sick to work!!) Any idea what it could be or how to get rid of it!?!

Hi there, in November, I suffered a miscarriage, i was 6 weeks into the pregnancy at age 31. This happened to be a 2nd miscarriage, first occured when i was 16. I have had a son in between at the age of 22. I have just found out i am pregnant again...took 3 tests to make sure as i took the tests 6 days b4 period. all tests have come out positive. My LMP was on the 10th December, that was the only period i saw after my miscarriage( was advised to wait 1 month b4 trying again). However I am now so anxious and extremely worried about miscarrying again. Could any1 share similar experiences or know what my chances are of miscarrying again. Thanks so much!

i am currently 35 weeks pregnant and ever since my 31 week i have had these really bad itches all over my body. at first around my 28th week it was just my belly. now its everywhere from my back, my legs, my arms. i itch so bad especially at night time i cant sleep because of it. i have itched so much i get scratch marks everywhere. my back appears as though i have been whipped. could it be a liver problem?? or what can it be?? Also i forgot to mention..my doctor subscribed me with a cream a while back when it wasnt so severe, but it doesnt seem to be taking affect now i know your belly itching is normal..but why this crazy itch everywhere..its driving me nuts

My boyfriend and I had sex a few times last week and i just switched my pills about a week before that so i know those probably werent protecting me well. Anyways, he used a condom and also pulled out with a condom. abotu 2 days after this I got what seemed to be my peroid and i have had it and still have it for about 4 days now which feels like a period maybe a very very less heavy but i think thats from chaning b/c pills (since the 31) i get worried about things and was like lets just make sure the condoms had no holes.. well seems like only one and the tinyest whole in it. What are my chances of acutally being pregnant even though i have what seems to be my period now? Please no rude answeers i am old enough to know and to be having sex. Thanks everyone!

I am 31 weeks and 4 days pregnant and last night I noticed my ankles were severly swollen along with some slight swelling in my fingers only noticable when I try to bend them and both symptoms have kept up. I called my OB office as the swelling in my ankles didn't pop back out when I pressed them and talked with the on call OB (of course the only one I hate) and she said to drink water with lemon juice in it and lay down/elevate my legs/feet. My mom then prompted me to take my blood pressure and it was 130/78. Except for one time at a Chiropractor's office my blood pressure has always been under 120 and under 60. Pregnancy is a natural blood pressure lowerer so it has been lower during my pregnancy. I'm only 18 years old, have gained 25 lbs so far during the pregnancy (started gaining at four months) so I have gained that amount in four months. I'm a healthy person and small woman at five feet four inches tall and 111 lbs pre-pregnancy. I haven't done any physical activity since 15 weeks due to Placenta Previa, which then turned into Placenta Abruption at 22 weeks and have been on limited bed rest since 22 weeks. I got a steroid series including two injections at 24 weeks since at that point I could go into pre-term labor at any point. I know Edema (swelling), fluid retention is normal during this point in pregnancy but what about the blood pressure? Experiences, advice, knowledge on anything mentioned? I also want to add I passed my Gestational Diabetes test at 28 weeks.

I am 31 weeks pregnant with #2. I dont drink, smoke or do anything that might harm my unborn baby, but my tummy is ALOT smaller with this baby than it was with my first. I remember i couldnt even bend to paint my toe nails last time and this time, sometimes i forget i'm pregnant cos i can still bend as normal and dont feel or look big. I have an appointment today so i will discuss with my midwife, but what are some reasons my baby may be smaller? Are girls generally smaller than boys? My son was 7 pound 8 when born at 38 weeks.

I'm currently a day care teacher, the infants teacher actually. There's really no chance of advancement at my job. I could be a director or assistant director but that doesn't make much more than I do now. I make about 24,000 a year. But I have the opportunity to take a job as a pharmacy tech with my brother who's a pharmacist. It's more money and they would put me through school to be a pharmacist, and my brother makes about 100,000 a year as a pharmacist. My problem is I love my job. I love that I'll be able to bring my baby to work and she'll be with me all day. I honestly have no idea where she'd go while I worked if I had a different job. But then again I could provide much better for her if I took the other job. Opinions please! What would you do?

My period is usually every 31 days I think I may have ovulated late this month and conceived. The Hpt is negative but my period was due 1 week ago. If I am pregnant I concieved about 12 days ago. Am I testing too early?

I generally get my period every 31-32 days. I had unprotected sex about one week before my period was due. I should have ovulated the week before and not been fertile at that point . Well that was two weeks ago and my period never came. I am begining to think I may have ovulated late and concieved which is why I never got my period. I took a HPT and it was negative but I am having some early pregnancy symptoms. (I have a three year old) Could it be too early to test If I ovulated around the time we has sex then my period is not late yet.

On 12/26/08 I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend - It was also the day I ovulated. Well 12/30/08 I started having some cramps in my pelvic that would be more towards my right ovary but then sometimes I would feel aches towards my left along with it came some gas. They cramps intensify more at night than during the day. 12/31/08 I spotted but only when I wiped and it was like drops of light pink. Im not due to start my period until 01/08/09 or 01/09/09 and I never/rarely get cramps before or during the time Im about to start. and if I would I wouldn't think they would last up to a whole week. I took a pregnancy test 01/03/09 and 01/04/09 and they both came out negative. I know I probably took them way too early but im getting quite anxious and It is like my body is telling me I am. Do you think there is an actual possibility of pregnancy? My doctor wants me to come in already to get a blood test done, but im just afraid its still to early. Should I take a blood pregnancy test yet and how accurate are they?

Any advice? Its getting severe, I can't breathe. I have an inhaler that my OB said was safe to use whenever I needed it during pregnancy, but its about an hour away right now. I know it should go away in a few days and if it doesn't I will talk to my OB about it. Its at rest.

I am 30 weeks, will be 31 this week. On New Years Eve I had abdominal pain on and off all afternnon. Did finally go away. Then again very early this morning (1AM) I had period type cramping. Not intense but def noticeable that came and went. No bleeding or anything like that, just the cramping. Think I should call my dr in the morning or perhaps it was Braxton Hicks contractions?? Any thoughts?

Hi. me and my girlfriend just had sex the day before new years. dec. 31, 2008.
