Open Question: Is this normal to get a severe sudden muscular pain in the calve region during pregnancy?
(Mon, 06 Sep 2010 00:20:06 GMT)
I am now 33 weeks pregnant. Yesterday while I was sleeping I had a severe and a sudden pain in my left leg exactly in my calve region. I wake up because of that severe pain. I felt like I was paralyzed because the pain was very much horrible. I was like crying. I can't even move my leg a single bit. Even if I move a little bit then the pain is getting much more severe. It lasted for about 2 minutes. Only after 2 minutes I was released from that pain. What is this pain? Is this normal. Do anyon

Open Question: How do I talk my best friend out of abortion?
(Sun, 05 Sep 2010 23:26:47 GMT)
I'm 17, and 33 weeks pregnant myself.
And today, my best friend, who is also 17, just found out she's pregnant.
When she was 15, she had an abortion, and since then its been something she can't get past.
Its messed with her so much.. and me and her both know she can't handle another one.
We both quit high school, she got married at 16, and I got my GED. I'm taking online college classes, she's divorced, has a job, license, and a car... while I'm not working, I don't have a car, nor job.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant. I went to the dr's a week ago for an ultrasound and they told me my placenta is mature & showing calcification spots (pretty much a placenta thats about 40 weeks), and because of this issue its causing my amniotic fluid level to be low, the dr said it's not incredibly low but their just being concerned and watching over it more often now. They also sent me upstairs and hooked me up to an IV to get more fluid into me & give me those 2 steriod shots to help make babies lun

Resolved Question: Parents of more than one child:How did you feel when your second was born?
(Mon, 30 Aug 2010 15:01:55 GMT)
I am 33 weeks, so it feels like both an eternity and really soon that my daughter will be here (we are still getting her room together, etc.). When my son was born I didn't know what to expect, figured he might look pretty funny after a long labor and it could take a while to bond. However, even though I was out of it from an epic labor, I fell in love at first sight and thought I had made the most perfect baby in the world! Will it be the same with my daughter? I almost feel guilty because I

As proud of myself as i am, i am just wondering if this is gonna have negative effects on the baby. i lost a bit of weight from being sick and her movement has slowed a ittle but not much

Resolved Question: Blood Pressure & Pregnancy Advice?
(Sat, 28 Aug 2010 15:23:23 GMT)
I am 33 weeks pregnant.
My OB put me on bed rest last week due to my rising BP. I knew I was going to be a 'Gestational Hypertension' candidate again as I had the same issue when I was pregnant with my daughter. The only difference is he combined the rest with medication with that pregnancy.
This time, he's decided to forgo the medication and see if the bed rest does the trick alone. With my DD, it spiked in my 38th week and I ended up with an emergency c-section. I wouldn't be surprised if

Resolved Question: Questions about ECV, c-section, baby's position?

I'm a little over 33 weeks pregnant and at my last prenatal appointment, my doctor told me that my baby was in a breech position and said that she would most likely turn into the heads down position by 37 weeks.
I've had 3 ultrasounds and in every single one, my baby was in some kinda of breech position. She's never ever been heads down. Does this mean it's likely she will never turn heads down on her own?
Also, I'm quite thin so it's easier for me to tell how she's positioned and I'm almost c

so I'll be 33 weeks this coming sunday and my doc usually does one of the last ultrasounds to check for baby's size and anatomy at 32 weeks. When I went for my 28th week appt. she told me that I looked small and that my stomach should be a bit higher up at this point, hence she doesn't want to wait till 32 weeks and do an ultrasound the very next week. I've been dealing with a very stressful pregnancy. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and because of that they have been tracking the size of my baby. I just got another ultrasound yesterday, I am around 33 weeks pregnant and the baby weighed 3.54. They said that the growth rate has dropped into less than the 2 percentile (whatever that means.) Resolved Question: 33 weeks, possibly breech. Im Having a scan to double check, would that be an ultrasound?

My midwife said when I have my next appointment on the 1st of Sept I have to have a scan to check that the baby is not in the breech position as she isn't 100% sure (he was in a awkward position last week so she couldn't tell the head from the bum) So when my midwife says scan, I am presuming she means an ultrasound?
I probably sound really stupid by even asking this haha let's just blame pregnancy brain. A scan couldn't be anything else could it? I am excited that I possibly get to have anoth

Voting Question: When to take a HPT after early miscarriage?
(Tue, 24 Aug 2010 18:47:26 GMT)
last month, July 20th, I began to miscarry. I was only a few weeks pregnant--maybe 5 weeks and the Dr. confirmed it as a 'chemical pregnancy' since it was too early to see anything on an ultrasound. The Dr. said to count this a period and gave us the 'green light' to try again immediately. So we've been trying, but I have no means to calculate when I ovulated or when to expect a period. It's been 35 days and still no period, so is it too soon to test?
My normal cycle is roughly 30-33 day

My results were NT = 2cm (MoM 1:33), PAPP-A = .60 MoM, and HCG = 1.7something MoM.
I am 30 years old and my risk was calculated at 1/175.
One answer I am not getting a clear picture on is whether my true gestational age is being used to calculate this risk, or merely the CRL. Eve
