Open Question: Am I feeling contractions?
(Sun, 14 Mar 2010 23:34:12 GMT)
I am 36 weeks pregnant with my fifth child and I have only been in labor once with my first child and that was 8 years ago and it ended in c-section. So I am not really sure what contractions feel like. I keep having feelings like the baby is balling up and stretching out, its not painful just a little annoying. Don't know how else to describe it. I have never felt anything like this before. I am not bleeding or leaking any fluid or discharge, If I was I wouldn't be on here. Could this be contractions or the baby moving in a funny way?
also can you feel contractions on one side of ur belly. The tighting starts at the lower part of belly then moves up one side. and sometimes it just at the top.

Open Question: Why does my heart start beating fast randomly for no reason?
(Sun, 14 Mar 2010 16:20:18 GMT)
My heart will start beating fast for about five to seven seconds to the point where I have to inhale harder to get air. It feels as if I had just got done running a mile, it will beat extremely fast. It happens randomy even when I'm sitting or laying down doing absolutely no physical activity. It started happening about a month ago and it occures a few times a day. I don't know if this means anything but I drink ALOT of water daily and I get enough rest. When I get medical check ups, my blood pressure and all that comes out ok.
I'm 36 weeks pregnant...is this pregnancy related? What could be wrong with me?

Resolved Question: 36 weeks pregnant. Odd places for pressure...oblique?
(Sun, 14 Mar 2010 06:07:01 GMT)
I'm currently 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first. When he hiccups, I feel twitches very low in my abdomen, so I assume he's head down? However, I feel them to one side toward my hip instead of right above my pubic bone. Whenever he kicks or stretches, there is pressure on one of my sides and on the opposite hip, in a diagonal position. Hardly ever directly on my pubic bone.
My question is:
Is it possible that my baby could be in the oblique position?
I had an appointment this past Wednesday with my nurse and asked her if he was head down. She said (in an uncertain tone) "He feels like he is," but that's all she said about it. I plan to ask my doctor at my next appointment on Wednesday, but I wanted others opinions first.
Thanks to all! :D

Open Question: Baby has maxed out my uterus at 35 weeks pregnant?
(Sun, 14 Mar 2010 04:35:33 GMT)
I am 35 weeks pregnant, and have went into preterm labor twice. I have go the terb shot twice now. The nurse said that because of my small frame and smaller uterus the baby has stretched my uterus to the max. & that I will not carry full term, maybe not even to 36 weeks. Im worried I have to big of a baby, and that I may need a c-section. Has this happened to anyone else??

Open Question: Im so confused! Am I pregnant or not? please help?
(Sun, 14 Mar 2010 04:26:04 GMT)
Hi my name is Sarah, and I am 20. My husband and I have been trying for a baby for the past year on and off. In December we decided that we were ready to try again. About a week or so after I ovulated I started showing signs that I was pregnant. Tired, sick, moody, having a hard time sleeping and staying a sleep, my boobs started hurting REALLY bad. That lasted for over two weeks. Then one day I woke up and everything had stopped. 3 days later I started my period. I was convinced that I had miscarried. Anyways, i didnt have a period in January, but started light bleeding on February 9th. which lasted 36-48 hours then stopped. I had no idea that I was going to start( no bloating, cramping, bitchy-ness, nothing) the spotting would go on for 12 hours and stop for 6-12 then start again. VERY strange for me. The color was dark red. no clots. And when it ended then was no cramps at all( which has never happened to me before!!! usually the cramps are so bad they put me to sleep) and the color was reddish brown and only when I wiped. Since then I have been having a lot of pregnancy symptoms except for the peeing alot and and sore boobies. I have been sick to my tummy, dizzy, having cravings, and exhaust constantly!!!!! Oh and GOD AWFUL memory loss!!!! Very unlike me!!! please help! for any questions on anything, email me at slow_dive_1989@yahoo.com thanks!!!
O and btw. I have this thing where home preg test dont work on me.

Open Question: How fast can I dilate from a 3cm with my back to back pregnancy?
(Sun, 14 Mar 2010 01:56:58 GMT)
I had my daughter April 28th 2009 and than got pregnant two months later with my son and am due April 1st 2010. So I have had a back to back pregnancy, I dont know if that has anything to do with my current pregnancy. But I have been told having a back to back can increase your chances of having the baby sooner and faster.
I went in to my doctors appt at 36 weeks and was dilated at 1cm 30 % effacement, and at my 37 week appt I was told I am a Good 3cm dialated 90% effacement. I was told he is pretty low and in position to go. I have lost my mucus plug.
I experiance times when my tummy feels tight (cant tell if its tight because of contractions or because the baby has moved) I do have constant back pain and I have experianced some preasure in my pelvic and sometimes I feel preasure on my vagina. Sometimes feels like someone has a pencil inside of me and keeps poking me.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of a back to back pregnancy. My doctor says that I probably would not make it to week 39. So I am wondering if anyone has any simular stories. And if anyone knew good home remedies to help this process go faster. I am exhausted.
\
That is also something I have noticed the past two days I just want to sleep all the time. It is impossible not to have a nap. I do not know if its because I am ready for my son or because I have a 10 month old here at the house that wares me out.

Open Question: I am 36 weeks pregnant and I have high blood pressure, when should I go to the hospital?
(Sat, 13 Mar 2010 17:57:48 GMT)
I am 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant, During my prenatal visit 5 days ago they noticed I had high blood pressure 130 something over 94. My dr. put me on a low dose of blood pressure meds and told me to come back on thursday (three days away) however i ended up going back on wednesday due to the fact the night before I got a severe headache and a nosebleed. At that visit my blood pressure was 146/96 my dr. then doubled my dose of meds and told me to come back the following day so they could monitor the baby. When I went back on Thursday my blood pressure was 159/99. but the baby was still doing fine (thank the lord) he told me to give the new strength of meds time to work and to come back on monday. I have a blood pressure monitor at home and I have been feeling really bad again...so I keep checking my blood pressure over the past couple of days and the lowest its been is 130 something over 94 and I checked it about an hour ago bc im getting a really bad headache and it was 146/106, im not sure what to do, im very scared and I feel like crap..when should i call the hospital? what should i say if i do, and how bad should it get before i go to the hospital?

I am 36 weeks pregnant and I am soon having identical twin girls! What do you think of these names? Do they match? Do they sound nice together?

Will it sound nice when people say 'Jasmine and Aurora'? Do you think they are similar? The girls will be from quite a high up society, go to a private school etc... do you think their names suit that kind of life?

Open Question: Mucous plug vs. Discharge.. How do you know?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 16:04:39 GMT)
How do you know if you've lost your mucous plug?! I don't think I have, but I do have discharge pretty frequently throughout the day that got heavier a couple weeks ago and stayed heavier. Is the plug something that's going to be pretty obvious, or am I going to be unsure? I keep reading about people who have lost theirs at like 32 or 34 weeks pregnant. Now I'm 36 and still no sign of losing a plug! What up?

Open Question: I cant get a c section out of my head?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 14:27:34 GMT)
I don't know what to do i am 28 weeks pregnant with baby#2. my first baby was born by emergency section after 36 hours of labour and the recovery was terrible. I dont know if i should just have a c section this time or try vaginal birth. After my daughter i felt so depressed like a failure because i couldnt deliver her myself, i feel like if i decide to have a section at least it will be my choice but if i try natural and end up needing a section it will be terrible. I know i would be really proud if i could deliver vaginally and the recovery wont be as bad. do you think if i dont give vaginal a chance i will regret it forever? i really dont know what to do..

Open Question: Can I Request To Be Induced?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 09:52:38 GMT)
Im 36 weeks along & have had nothing but problems throughout the last trimester of my pregnancy. I have pre-eclampsia, constant headaches all the time because of it, I have had a UTI my whole entire pregnancy, since I was 8 weeks along & It hasnt gone away with any medication. I also can barely walk because I have so much pressure on my pelvis, I need a cane or some assistance to move from place to place. I cant make it to my doctors appointments all the time since I have no car & im not allowed to walk anywhere because of my pregnancy. PLUS I have already been admitted to the hospital 3 times for pre-term labor with contractions. They gave me steroids & everything. Im so done with being pregnant. Are any of these reasons to request to be induced?

Resolved Question: who else would like to share their story of loss?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 07:59:43 GMT)
Well my story starts of as a school girl, like any other teen (Me at the time) 14 years old and full of pride i had my first real boy friend and i loved him sooooo much, Oh and of course i thought i was invincible i wanted to marry him and would do anything for him i even slept with him.
I have to add this bit (my mum if that's what you could call her was okay with anything i done hey she's the first person to offer me marijuana and yes i accepted i had such a great role model, My father was not around)
Anyway getting back to it, I was starting to have a lot of days off school i was real sick my mother asked me "when was your last period" i shrugged it off and said "Last month" My mother said "maybe you should got to the doctors", I didn't know what she meant i was just sick.
I was at a friends I told her about what my mum said her response maybe your pregnant, I was dazed i said "I ain't having no baby".
I did decided to go to the youth clinic and my friend came with me the doctor their confirmed i was indeed pregnant i said the same thing i said to my friend i ain't having no baby i want an abortion, So the doctor wanted a ultrasound, Had a ultrasound that day the tech asked if i wanted to know the sex i was like no i'm having a abortion, she walked out of the room and a doctor came in and talked to me about i was to far to have a abortion and there was other options i discovered i was 23 weeks pregnant and i was having a baby boy .
I was stunned i didn't know what to do, I had to tell my mum As i walked in the front door i walked up to my mums bedroom where she was i sat on the bed and said "I went to the health clinic" my mum said "Oh yeah" I said "I'm pregnant" she took a deep breath in and told me about the option told me not to interrupt after she gave me the options number one been abortion, number two been adoption and three been keep the baby and she would be there for me.
I said to her "I can't have a abortion i'm to far i'm having a boy".
I am surprised that my mother did take the news pretty good.
I had a healthy pregnancy and Morning sickness like no other i also turned 15, and then at 36 weeks and after a 36 hour labour i gave birth to my Beautiful baby boy weight 7 pound 9 oz and 46 cm long, i was amazed he was the best thing that ever happened to me (Oh and the father was to young apparently to be a father).
after spend 8 days in hospital and then i took home my baby, My mum helped out a lot and she was so proud her first grandchild.
Then 4 weeks after i had him i was aroused to discover he was not breathing i'm not going to go in to detail about exactly what happened but the ambos confirmed it.
i got a letter in the mail from the coroner and the findings said nothing and death was pronounced as sudden infant death syndrome it broke my heart into a million bits and part of me died that day.
I now realise it's hard enough to have a baby at 15 but then i had to bury my baby, It's the hardest thing i have ever in my life had to do.
I had another baby at 38 weeks 8 pound 9 oz 55cm long i was 17, a little under a week until i turned 18, She was gorges and i was shit scared. (I started dating her father not long after my 1st baby left me)
I then discovered i was pregnant with my third baby when i was 19, I had some trouble while i was pregnant my 3rd baby the umbilical cord was deformed and they where amazed that i made it to 41 weeks and said that usually the baby would have not survived past 12 weeks in the womb I gave birth to her she was so little and amazing 6 pound 2oz 45 cm long, soon after giving birth i had major hemorrhaging and need and D&C and blood transfusion, when i did get out of hospital i got really sick and had to be re-admitted i had septicemia and could feed my baby until i was better.
(In the mean time me and my girls dad split it was the best choice he badly abused me while i was pregnant with our second baby).
when my youngest daughter was 6 months old i met a man he was an amazing friend (I'm now married to him he is the best man in the world and i'm so happy i found him he brought 3 baby's of his own and we made us a family he has all boys they are great kids and my girls love their step brothers as if they where their own blood and flesh brothers, year of births 1999, 2001, 2003)
When my youngest (at the time was 18 months old i discovered i was pregnant my pregnancy was a Breeze and at 40 weeks i gave birth to a wonderful baby boy 8pound 2oz 49 cm long.
Last year in june i discovered i was pregnant i was amazed (I wanted another boy) but tragedy struck and at 16wks + 5 days i had a miscarriage, The baby i miscarried was perfectly formed it was a little boy, I am heart broken and words can't describe what this has done to me, If i could give my life for both my angels i would do anything, I would spend the rest of eternity in hell just to know my baby's are safe and well.
right now i take every month as it comes in hope i can have anothe
sorry story got lost I

Open Question: Should I start back on my Paxil after the baby is born?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 03:40:09 GMT)
I am almost 36 weeks pregnant. I took Paxil for around,8 months pre pregnancy and then had to stop after finding out I was pregnant. I went through 3-4 different anti depressants that were considered safer but they had no affect on me. They put me back on Paxil during pregnancy because I got so bad but all it did was make me puke. So I stopped.
I have been doing without for 3-4 months now and I'm finally nearing the end of my pregnancy. Paxil worked wonders for me before I got pregnant but I've heard once you stop taking it,it no longer works for you when you try again.
Should I get back on it once I have the baby? I have OCD and depression/anxiety and it can get really bad at times.

Open Question: 36 weeks...nesting last 2 days...just don't feel right..any thoughts?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 02:40:53 GMT)
I am 36 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. I had my first at 40 weeks 5 days and my second at 37 weeks 6 days.
I can't remember how I felt with either of my babies at this point but I would just like YOUR experiences. I have been nesting BAD (lol) for the last 2 days and I feel like I am getting sick. I just don't feel right...almost fuzzy and blah (like I drank WAAAAAAAAAAAY to much caffiene or something) my tummy also hurts to touch in some spots. I really just think I am stretched to my limit and my skin is sore. (If that makes sense) I have no real desire to eat either....not in the last couple of days (I DO EAT THOUGH) I just am NOT hungry. But I think it's the "fuzzy" not quite right feeling that is bothering me the most. I don't like how I feel at all.
How was everyone feeling about this time or before they went into labor? Did you experience this?THANKS! :)
I AM DUE APRIL 9th TOO!!!! :) (so technically I am 35 weeks 6 days...lol) :) I swear I have organized this entire house...sterilized everything in site, washed every piece of laundry in the house, put together the bassinett....ETC!!! I can't stop! LOL!

Open Question: I'm thinking about letting my cat go outside,is this a good idea?
(Fri, 12 Mar 2010 02:18:40 GMT)
My cat is very playful. She can be very rough and often likes biting hard.
Well,I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant and have prepared for the baby. My cat likes getting in her crib already and the bassinet, and she doesn't listen (she's spoiled) so it does no good to tell her no.
I got her fixed a month ago,so if I did stick her outside she wouldn't have any kittens, however she has never been an outside cat. I cannot keep her in the room with me and she prefers to sleep with me so if I don't let her in she just meows at the door constantly!
I either have to get rid of her, which will be hard to do because I have already tried,or stick her outside. Is this really that bad of an idea?
I kept her because I love her, good grief. I have to do something with her because I am expecting a baby in April and I can't share the room with a baby and an overly playful cat.
I'm not abandoning her,I love her dearly and I'm trying to find the best way to handle the situation.

Open Question: do you think i will be going into labor soon?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 23:37:33 GMT)
im 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant today
im due on april 4 but last week at about
35w4d i was bleeding with chunks of blood
in my urine so i went to the hospital the doctor
checked me and saw that i was 4 cm dialated
and was having contractions (not bad just mild back pain)
every 2 to 3 minutes and so they were going to admit me
into the hospital but the next day all bleeding stopped and
contractions stopped so being that i am still not full term
till next week and i wasnt in active labor they let me go home
on bedrest. but if i am already 4cm dialated and 70% effaced
this early do you think i will dialate faster than others ive also
been having alot of white mucousy discharge not sure wat it is
and lower back pain i think those are contractions and my baby
is suuper low on my pelvis i can harly pick up my stomach LOL.
so what do you guys think how long will it be till i go into labor?

I did post yesterday, but I did it in the middle of the night and didn't really get any answers.
I am 36.5 weeks pregnant and am being induced on Monday for health reasons.
I have developed mild pre-eclampsia. My blood pressure has been in the 140/90 range and when I am up moving it gets worse. (Not to mention at 34.5 weeks the ultrasound already put the baby at almost 8 pounds.)
I have been admitted to the hospital twice for 2 night stints on full bed rest since.
We are doing an amnio on Monday before the induction just in case, but the doctor is confident that his lungs are developed.
We will be starting with cervadil because my cervix is not soft, effaced or dilated yet.
My question is, has this drug been helpful to any of you? Were you already effaced and dilated at the time? How long did it take? Are there other methods I can try at home to get my cervix to soften before my appointment so that maybe the process is jumpstarted a little?
I am also on pelvic rest, so that means sex is not an option, nor is walking around.
I do have semi-regular BH. They are more frequent at night and about 15- 30 minutes apart, but they aren’t helping to dilate me at all!
The doctor also told me that once I soften they will use Pitocin if my contractions are not regular on their own. I know that this makes for a more painful labor, but waiting for it to happen naturally could kill both me and my baby.
Any advice?
Sorry, I know this is long, but I am trying to be as prepared as possible and am hoping to make it as efficient as possible.

Resolved Question: I need some advice....?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 18:08:49 GMT)
I am 36.5 weeks pregnant and measuring 38.5 weeks. Big baby i know! My first was 9lbs 10.5 oz...4 days early. I am also 2-3 cm dilated. What i am asking is what are some tricks that worked for any of you to start labour? I know alot will say Baby will come when ready. But he is going to be huge and i just want some ideas to think about. I am not having many contractions which is kind of disappointing i thought i would be by now as i was with my first,,, i am tired and very stressed about the size of the baby.

Open Question: Am I going into labor in the next few days?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 17:46:59 GMT)
So I'm a little over 36 weeks pregnant and I'm having horrible pains in my lower abdomen. Its constant pain... not like coming every 5 minutes like contractions. I've already lost my mucus plug and I've been getting a TON of BH contractions... I also have a ton of discharge... like way more than even a couple days ago.
Could this be me going into labor in the next few days?
Oh I'm also getting horrible back pain... the pain goes all the way thru my abdomen and around to my back... but its constant pain.

Open Question: 18 weeks pregnant and not showing at all!?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 15:54:58 GMT)
18 weeks pregnant with baby number 4. Did not show with the other 3 but assumed pregnancy on top of pregnancy, not done on purpose, would possibly have me showing a little? I see all these women with big tummies and I feel like I'm missing out. People just look at me like your pregnant? Are you kidding? And I have large babies.. 6lb 12oz at 35 weeks, 8lb 13oz at 36 weeks, 7lb 3oz at 36 weeks... Am I really missing out on something?
Even as I go in for delivery, you cannot tell I'm pregnant. Never had the big belly. Havent gained a pound in this pregnancy and lost 30 in my last, doctor isn't worried though as long as baby is growing. Weight loss is not on purpose. Im not skinny but not big either.
Due date 8-11-2010

Resolved Question: Baby's head is so low?
(Thu, 11 Mar 2010 14:07:54 GMT)
I am now 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant and at my 36 week appointment the doctor said my baby's head is so low he's never felt anything that low. I would say I dropped around 34 weeks and have been getting lower and lower since. I am now waddling when I walk, I can't cross my legs anymore, can barely put on my own shoes, and feel pressure and pain to walk. I have been having irregular contractions all day yesterday and last night but nothing regular and the contractions are gone now. Could this be any sign that labor may be soon? I know you can never know for real but if you experienced this, how long after did you labor?
Also I had my son at 37 weeks because my water had broke, I dropped with him but don't remember all the pressure and waddling and other things I am experiencing this time.
