I was in a car accident (passenger), we got hit head on by another driver which wrote off both our cars. I was 38 weeks pregnant and started leaking amniotic fluid for a week before my waters broke, after a failed induction due to the premature rupture I had an emergency c section. Further births will now also end this way. I also suffered whiplash, eye infection from the dust of the airbag, post traumatic stress disorder and anxiety which has lead to back and neck problems. I've never been in this position before and am awaiting legal advice. What sort of compensation level can we hope for. I'd rather of had a normal birth and be healthy but if you have to look at the positives then this is all I can hope for at the moment. Thanks

Supposedly I'm 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant... Due April 24th..I kept track of my periods so I know that the first day of my last period was July 2nd. Which based on a 28 day cycle I can't remember exactly but I though was April 8th... When I told the nurse my last period she said I must have had a light period after July 2nd. I didn't argue with her but know I didn't have a light period...at a different dr appt I asked the doctor if my due date was way off because my period is about 7 days long ... And around 38-40 day cycle. I ovulate on the 16th or 17th day of my cycle... She just said yes.. I'm just wondering if with that information would my due date really be pushed back to April 24th instead of atleast the middle of April? The baby has measured about a week or 2 ahead lately.. so until this morning i thought my due date was march 19th, i asked my doctor just out of curiosity and she tells me its not its the 22nd..no big deal only 3 days more, but yet again its 3 days mmorreee! anywho when i was checked this morning i was told im 2 cms dilated, they didnt say anything about being effaced...which i shouldve asked but i just didnt think about it at the time. i lost my mucus plug over 3 weeks ago and there was the bloody show. i was in labor and delivery for 3 hours that night with some pain & the doctor gave me a shot to stop contractions. i feel so discouraged like being 2 cms is great but it seems like everything was happening so fast and now hes just never going to come. i guess my question is if this has happened to anyone and if so what did you do, and how can i help the progress. i was thinking about taking a nice long walk since its actually gorgeous out for once..but im just not too sure if it will actually help

this is my second pregnancy i was induced with my first so i am not really sure on early labor signs. for the last couple hours i have had to go to the toliet (sorry tmi) my stomach is tightening constantly which is making me hard to breathe and making me feel alittle sick. Hi all. Recently found out that I am positive for Group B Streptococcus, which means that I suffer alot more UTI then the average pregnant woman. Anyways, I have had quite a few during pregnancy, but nothing to bad, and only lasting a day. I have one now, but am stressing because of the Strep. I have read the real concern of getting a UTI in pregnancy is it will go to the kidneys and may cause preterm labor. I am 38.5 weeks, so I wouldnt be preterm at all. Is that the only concern? is bubs 100% safe from getting sick, or it leading to any side affects in her? I will be going to the docs tomorrow, but like all the other uti Ive had, I see me being better in the morning

and im not sure if the pain im feeling in between my tighs could be a sign of early labor...no cramps yet water is intact, but for 2 days now i have been walking with mild discomfort/pain..could this be a sign that i may go into labor soon? i dont think the baby has dropped yet...what else should i be on the lookout for? first time mom. thanks

I am due on March 18th- Right now 38 1/2 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am so excited about having a little girl but I am beginning to get nervous. The doctor told me yesterday that she felt as if she were around 7.5 or 8.0 pounds. I am worried that she is going to be a big baby since she is not due for another week and 1/2. I am quiet petite myself- 5'2" and I am right at 200lbs right now with this baby. I am scared that her newborn clothes won't fit her :-(. I haven't had any signs of labor- just a few cramps and braxton hicks, 1 cm dilated and 30% effaced. Should I be worried/nervous? Will her newborn clothes fit? Hiya all =) I'm 35 weeks and 3 days pregnant and have just found out a lot of news in one day! I have had a placenta abrubtion, there has been a loss of fluid around my baby, she is measuring over a week small and to top it all off i'm anaemic. I'm now getting check ups and scans twice a week and at around 38 weeks i will be induced. If not it will be before then. I was just wondering which foods are good to top up my iron supply?? I have been given tablets to take to top it up but my doc has said if i can do it naturally its much better. Also wondering what they do when the induce you? Sounds silly i know but they're not discussing it with me until my check up on thursday and i'm dying to know what is going to happen. I'm in the north of Scotland, just in case they do things differently else where. Thanks in advance. X

I am 38 weeks pregnant and having regular contractions every 10 minutes apart. I am 3cm dilated, 75% effaced, and +1 station. Any ideas to help get this moving?? Tried sex and walking. The walking helps get them to about 4 minutes apart and pretty intense, but still not getting the show on the road.

38 weeks pregnant and I've been going to the bathroom (bowel movements) several times a day for the last couple of days.(This is not normal for me) They have been very soft stools. I woke up this morning feeling very sick to my stomach, close to vomiting but have not. I have been having braxton hicks contractions, they seem to be getting stronger over this last week. I was just wondering if anyone else had these symptoms prior to labor? If so, how long til you actually went into labor?

But then this ealry this morning I woke up to very hard contractions, that ended up going away. Now I am starting to have lower back pains, and some "menstrual like" feeling in the front. I do have an 8 and 4 year old,but don not remember ever feeling like this. But then again all pregnancies are different. Could my midwife checking my cervix yesterday start up some labor symptoms? I am not dilated or anything, or wasn't yesterday when she checked.

I just need some advice on what to think really- my mother in law is a great mum and grandma. I really do love her alot like my own mum but in the last few weeks she has completely stressed me out. I'm 39.3 weeks pregnant and when i told her last year we were going to have another baby and i wanted her in the ward with me she promised she would be there. She is a foster carer and looks after other peoples children who r on drugs etc. She got a drug withdrawal baby 4 months ago and already had a 3 year old. She promised that the baby would be gone by the time our daughter arrived. Since the baby came, the 3 year old has become wild, violent and constantly encouraging my 2 year old daughter to say no to us, hit and throw tantrums. I'm stressed as it is being 39 weeks pregnant but now she is telling me that she doesnt have anyone to watch the baby anymore so she cant be there for the delivery. I feel guilty for being so mad at her when i know she is doing a good deed, but putting other peoples kids first when I need her and her grand daughters need her seems just unreasonable to me.. She now says that she is going to keep the 3 year old till they find him a permanent home but with court being continuously delayed because his mother never turns up means she will have him for another 6-12 months. What do you think i should do? She knows we dont want her to keep him because of the influence he has over our daughter but yet i dont want her to miss out on seeing her grandkids by not allowing her to bring him over. Please no stupid replies from people with too much time on their hands, ive gotten one before about having an abortion at 38 weeks to sell for chinese food and i was not impressed so please dont be mean, I'm really stressed about this and just need abit of advice on whether im being reasonable or whether there is a different way of seeing things. what the chances of him inducing labor are if I were to ask? Starting on Friday I have been getting contractions for about 2 hours a day and they increase in pain every day. After about 2 hours though, they stop entirely, and I proceed to only have mild menstrual cramps on and off throughout the night. Also since Friday my discharge has increased, and the my baby's head is pressing down so hard on me that it is making it hard for me to sit down and it is also causing me to get sharp pains with every movement of his head. I went for a long walk today in hopes that it might bring on labor, but it has not. Although it did make the baby drop even lower than he already had, making me even more uncomfortable. I know most doctors won't induce labor just because of maternal discomfort, but I have been in tears every day since Friday when the contractions start til the time they stop. I can barely sit down because of the position of his head, which is making my swelling worse than it already is. I guess my question is what are the chances that he might help induce labor? Please I am not looking for criticism or for people to tell me that my baby will come when the time is right. I just want opinions on what my Dr. might tell me based on what I have said.

I am 38 weeks Pregnant. I am Dilated to 2cm and 90% effaced, and just today lost my mucus plug. They said I am in Early labor, with contractions coming every 3-10 min. I'm not dilating at a fast enough rate for them to keep me. they said it could be a few days to a week. So what do i do now? Anyone else in this situation? All my son's clothes are washed, the bags are packed, I walk for hours every day and My husband and I have sex at least once a day. How do i make the time pass?? I am due April 7th. My husband is deployed in Afghanistan right now,and they are trying to get him here for the birth. I just found out that he will actually be home around the 25th which would make me 38 weeks. Then right around my due date they are sending him back. So there's a really good chance he won't be here for the birth unless she decides she wants to come out soon. I really want him to be here for the birth,and to meet our little girl before he goes back. He won't be home for good until February of next year. I was wondering if i should talk to my doctor about inducing me sometime while he is home which makes me around 38-39 weeks pregnant. Im 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant, Im 50% effaced and maybe half of a cm dialated. I have been this way since week 38...My doctor said he is going to induce me on friday but if im still not dialated i may end up needing a c-section. My question is has anyone experienced this? Going in to be induced and not dialated, was it a long process? or did it end in a c-section? I would love to hear what happened to you, it will make me feel better!

i left him now for the 2nd time while being pregnant. I am 27 and he is 38. We have been together for 3 yrs and since i got pregnant he has been acting like a jerk, I know we weren't ready financially and quite frank i dont think he wanted more chldren. he has a 16 yr old that he raised on his own. i really love him but he doesn't trust me and ever since he read my diaries that i wrote yrs ago he has been accusing me of so many things. He is ver insecure. he said he never felt like this with anyone else. He invaded my privacy and i stood bk and forgave him for it while he has made conclusions of my life on his own. He asked me once about things and this was at the very beginning and i didnt think that i needed to confess my past to him- i didnt even know him well. We did move in together too quickly at the beginning and even after all we lasted 3 yrs. I have been fighting for this relationship so much while he has done nothing but stand back and accused me of all these things i dont even want to repeat. He once told me that i made the mistake in not admitting to all the accusations bc he claims he is very intuitive and that he knows that everything is true. I have never done anything to hurt him during our realtionship- i have been nothing but loyal to him. i made mistakes in the past which have nothing to do with our future and he has done a lot more things and i never question him for it nor do i care. I am now pregnant and i left him the 2nd time bc i could not deal with all the stress of his drinking and coming and going as he pleased not spending any time with me. I am almost due and he decided that he could not be the person that he has to be with me and that he will never trust me. I haven't done anything to him but love him. What does it take for him to see that? I am devastated and moved in with parents in a city that i hate 2hrs away from him. I left him with the idea that he would change and smarten up and realize things instead he has decided we won't work bc of his own insecurities. We spoke a few weeks ago and we got back together 2x and each time he called bk to tell me that he was doing alot of thinking and that maybe it wasnt a good idea. He finally decided to end things as i mentioned and said it was for the best that he wasn't confused anymore. Help is he going to change his mind? His 2nd child is on her way and i have no idea how to prove him wrong of all the accusations.

Hi im 38 weeks pregnant and throughout the end of my pregnancy i have been having braxton hicks almost 10-20 times a day... Now last night while i was sitting i started having a BH but it was a little painful in my front and a little in my lower back..i then moved around and felt another one which felt the same as the first but i havnnt felt anymore painful BH throughout the night.. Now almost 24 hours later i felt pain in my lower abdomen and had another painful BH, when that was over the baby then moved around like crazy..anyone have any idea what or why this might be?? could i just be reading to much into it like hoping it would be labour pains???? anyone have a similar thing happen to them???

Well, I'm due tomorrow (well, it will be tomorrow in 45 minutes), March 9th and I'm just really frustrated. I was told all throughout the pregnancy this one was going to be premature, they hammered it into me that I needed to be looking out for labor signs as early as 25 weeks. My history: Had my first child at 27 weeks, but he died an hour later, and then I had 2 miscarriages over a span of about 4-5 months, and then got pregnant with this one 4 months after the last second miscarriage. So yeah. Anyway, I'm 'technically' only 38 weeks. But they changed my due date because of her size at both of my US, so really, 40 weeks (on the 9th). I've been having BH contractions since I was like 20 weeks or something, and yesterday I started getting more and more within a short time frame. But they're only lasting like 3 or 4 seconds each, argh. I just needed some place to vent, because it feels like it's been dragging on and on. And everyone keeps asking me when I'm going to have her, because like I said, we all expected her to be preemie. And my husband is worried he'll be at work when I finally start getting lasting contractions, and my SIL is so scared she'll be the only one home. Which is a possibility, since it's just me and her from 3PM until 8PM or sometimes even later. And she's only 14, so of course she panics a bit. Anywho..yep, that's about it. Lol, I put that it would be tomorrow in 45 minutes. Well, 38 now. As in, in 38 minutes, then I will be due tomorrow. xD I'm staying up late, waiting for my hubby to get home from work... Oh yeah, and I also want to add that I walked A LOT yesterday, more than I have probably in the last 4 months, since they put me on bedrest once I hit 20 weeks.

I am 30 and he is 38. He's been married before and is gun shy about it and I have been married before too but I am not gun shy about it. He keeps putting the wedding off, and we don't even have a date set anymore. He says probably in the next year and a half but if I ask he says I am pressuring him by just asking so I don't ask. We were engaged and decided we wanted to get pregnant. Before I met him I didn't want kids but I changed my mind being with him. So we start trying in October, and I we agree to go off birth control. We are both happy about it at that point. He keeps saying a Christmas baby would be nice, to get pregnant around Christmas, and we track my ovulation, have sex during my fertile times, and he stops taking baths to help his sperm count. He is totally participatory in all this and wants it to happen too. We get pregnant after a couple months, I was delighted to find out I conceived around Christmas too. I get pregnant and all the happiness stops. We have some relationship problems but see a counselor and are working through them, the relationship is doing better but he doesn't seem happy about the baby. I talk to him about it, as the weeks progress and he goes with me to the prenatals and sees the ultrasounds and we see the baby progressing. Then at 12 weeks, he says he doesn't think he'll ever marry me and doesn't want the baby because the timing is all wrong and he is going to be starting school when the baby is due. Meanwhile, I am in school too and I will have my license and will be ready to work once the baby is due. I told him I am totally willing to do whatever it takes and work hard and under no circumstances do I want to give up the baby and that nothing is insurmountable. He says it's the timing he doesn't like. So he says he doesn't want to be with me and doesn't want the baby, in one day. The same day, he says he does want to be with me, he hadn't thought it through. But he still doesn't want the baby. I am devastated, for two reasons, just being dumped, and now forced to give up my baby. I feel pressured into it, he doesn't give me any other choices about the baby. In a daze, I set up the appointment, we go to multiple appointments for it, and I got the abortion. I am now very upset. He WANTED this baby, then changed his mind. He proposed to me, now won't set a date until he feels more sure. He was a totally willing participant in BOTH these events. He knew what was happening. I feel like I was forced to give up the baby, and feel like he'll never commit to anything. This guy is 38 and I am wondering at that age, will a man like that ever be sure about anything? My clock is ticking and I do want to find a man to love and marry and have a family with, but I don't want to keep letting my values get trampled. He plays video games all day on his days off and wants to do stuff with friends, is he just immature and can I ever trust him?

I had unprotected sex a few weeks before my period was supposed to be here. I got it on the 38th day of my cycle. It was normal but still a little on the light side, for 2-2.5 days the stopped and I only got light brown and light pink spots when I wiped. That went of for 2 days. I didn't really have many side effects after that but I took a test just to ease my mind, it was negAtive. Itsbeen exactly a week since I took the test, and a week in a half since i started the "period". I had unprotected sex a month ago. This week I got constipated 2.5 days in a row had sharp sttomach pains, really moody and emotional, a little hungrier and starting last night had to pee more and been really tired and gassy the past few days. I haven't really had sore breasts, but are the others signs of pregnancy? When should I test again? Last test I didn't really have to pee so not much came out. What's the best way to test? Thanks! Also waking up on some schooldays makes me sick, somedays I throw up. Not everyday though. Usually just nausea but when I sleep in I feel fine when I wake up.

We were fine with this and were still close so for months our relationship had become less and less of a passionate relationship and more of a friendship. I am now 38 weeks pregnant and these last 2 months things have gotten really great between us and it really seems like we have some sort of chance of reconciling but after not being with him for "so long" all our sexual and affectionate maneuvers are awkward. What should I do to make things easier and have more confidence? I think about things a lot and how I'm going to do things and usually I can't get the courage up to do anything or it just gets awkward enough that I quit. I'm talking about even just kissing. BTW-this is someone I had a relationship with for 2 years. Since my question isn't really being answered I guess I should rephrase it- I feel enormous and haven't been affectionate or intimate in awhile, how do I get over my awkward feelings? Jess.... I don't have any idea what you're ranting about, you obviously didn't read the entire thing and just took what you wanted from it. I'm not trying to "win" him back or trying to "deprive" him of sex. I know the baby will come when shes ready but i guess the saying goes misery loves company...anyone feel like sharing how ready they are to be done with the pregnancy? Im fat , tired, cant sleep, throw up when i eat, hip cracks when i go up steps, roll over about 393 times per night becuase im in pain and most of all im just ready to meet my little one...whew ok now i feel better lol thanks for the stories

the baby is already head down and she is1cm dilated, but her cervix is still thick(she went to the doctor jus the other day) she is having horrible back pain, has got worse through out the day and has alot of pressure down there. the baby hasnt moved much at all today, last time she felt him move was early this morning. she is going to the hospital but i was wanting to know if it sounds like labor and if shes in that much pain and dilated will they induce her? has anyone ever went thru this? what did they do?
