I'm 38 weeks pregnant and my sister will be here tomorrow. She lives 6 1/2 hours away! I need to try and have this baby while she is here, any suggestions on how I can do that? I already know the sex, walking, spicy food, nipple stimulation, squats and orgasms. Is there something else I can try? I will NOT do the Castor Oil!!! NO BASHING PLEASE!

Earlier I had alot of lower back pain, but now its pretty much gone from my back, but in my lower tummy. Its like period crams but harder. The pains dont stay, they come and go. And pain in my vagina when i bend over. Could this possibly be labor? or just something? Hi, I'm 38 weeks pregnant and for the last week or two, whenever I have to go poo, the muscles "back there" cramp up when I try to push even a little. im 38 weeks pregnant and my doctor tested me for GBS and she told me I am a carrier of GBS (group B strep) it doesn't hurt me (women don't even know they have it) but it harms the baby and that I would have to be treated with penicillin during labor. I have been 3cm dilated and fully effaced since 36 weeks. I had a membrane sweep done at 38 weeks and nothing happened.. had severe period like cramps for a couple hours but they stopped. I am getting another membrane sweep done tomorrow (ill be 39 weeks 3 days) and i was wondering how effective the second time is? I'm 38 weeks pregnant and every once in a while I can hear and feel a popping in my lower abdomen/hips. It just sounds like a quick pop and then it goes away. Sometimes it's when the baby moves, sometimes it's just random. Last time I asked my doctor he said he didn't even know. ( I know great doctor huh?) Has anyone else had this weird pop?

Im 39 weeks pregnant but i feel like im 390 i dont think this kid is ever going to come out. At 37 and 38 weeks i was having lots of cramping and I think I lost my mucus plug. They check me at the doctors 2 weeks ago and I was 1 cm but they didnt check me last week. This week I havent been having any of the cramps (atleast not as bad as before) ive just been tired and cranky do u guys think he will be coming late? im due on the 20th.

Yesterday I was really tired and kinda just felt 'blah'. Last night, I had what I think were contractions but it was only twice. I had severe period like cramps that hurt so bad it brought tears to my eyes! lol Today, I've been having some period like cramps just not real bad cramps. It's been constant for maybe over an hour now. I also went to the bathroom about 15-20 minutes ago and my underwear were all wet. What does this mean? I'm watching to see if the new pair of underwear I have on get wet too. I've drank PLENTY of fluids today and I empty my bladder regularly (30-45 minutes). Could this mean labor is near?!?! :D

I am 38 weeks pregnant, and I have had really bad heartburn throughout my entire pregnancy. I was just eating tums whenever I had heartburn, and that was doing the trick for me, but at my last midwife appointment my midwife told me that I should stop eating tums. She said that I will end up getting calcium deposits on my placenta. She suggested that I take papaya enzymes from a health food store. I bought some yesterday, but it only says on the bottle to chew one after each meal to help digestion. I was wondering how many I should eat to prevent heartburn, but can't seem to find any of that info anywhere on the net. SO has anybody here taken papaya enzymes for heartburn during pregnancy?? If so, how often and how many did you eat, and did it work well for you?? Thanks!!

I just went to the doctor and my cervix was closed but since the pelvic check I had bright red blood mixed with mucus when I wiped 2 times in one day. Does this mean I should go to emergency or just wait until the water breaks? Please no links just real life experiences.

I am almost 38 weeks pregnant. My boyfriend thinks I'm not attracted to him because when we start fooling around, my body doesn't physically react until after we've started doing things... He thinks it's just the act of sexuality that turns me on, not him... but i know thats not true, i know it's him because I'll feel in the mood before we do anything... why doesn't my body react as quickly as my heart and mind? I think I lost my mucus plug a couple weeks ago for a couple days I had a whole lot of nasty white mucus coming out. The next week it was brown and came out for two days ( i don't know what that was). I am supposed to be induced in a couple days but these last two days I feel very crampy and sick. I am 38 weeks pregnant and I have been going to the docter every week for the last 2 weeks and I havent dialated at all. I am due March 27, and I am so ready to have my lil boy. It feels like his feet are constantly in my ribcage and hurts. I also have been lots of movement down by my private area along with some pain and pressure down there. Sometimes my private hurts. I have been having contractions since I was about 36 weeks. Jus wondering what to do.

My husbands brother (which is my brother in law) has a girlfriend - they have been together for about 9 years, they have 2 girls and now she is pregnant (38 weeks) with a baby boy. Well, she admitted to cheating on her man right around the time she got pregnant. My brother in law is hoping that this baby is his. However, my brother in laws sisters do not like this girl at all for cheating and the pregnancy and all because they don't believe its his baby. This girl brainwashed him in thinking that this baby is his but they don't want to do a paternity test. This has caused alot of problems because he doesn't really spend time with his sisters anymore nor his own parents because of his girlfriends situation. I feel sorry for him but I feel that she's making him choose sides. Is there anything that my brother-in-laws sister's can tell him or my mother in law can tell him or talk to him to get him to open his eyes ???!!!!

i dont have really bad Braxton-hicks contractions or anything...but i do have a lot of back pain...last night i was upevery 20 min i could feel my stomach tightening up but not really painful other than the pressure of it.... although i lack some of the bigger labor symptoms i just have this "feeling" that its close (by close i mean within the next 5 days). i havent felt like this until last night. Im 38 weeks pregnant and everything is completly normal and healthy....im just wondering if any of you other mothers have stories of similiar things? were you "felt" it coming aside from symptoms...or am i just going crazy and getting anxious in my last few weeks? lol

I am 38 weeks 6 days pregnant, and this morning I woke up to blood in my panties. I called the hospital to see if I should go in, but the nurse said it may just be my mucous plug and to wait until I start having bad contractions. I thought the bloody show was supposed to be a mucous, but mine is just like watered down blood. There's not stringiness or any substance to it at all, just watery blood. It was a lot at first, and now it is still coming but not in as much quantity. I am having contractions, and they are getting stronger, but I am also having cramps in between. The baby is still moving, but I am very worried. Could the blood mean something bad is going on? Or is it really just the bloody show everyone talks about, even if there is no mucous?

Well my story starts of as a school girl, like any other teen (Me at the time) 14 years old and full of pride i had my first real boy friend and i loved him sooooo much, Oh and of course i thought i was invincible i wanted to marry him and would do anything for him i even slept with him. I have to add this bit (my mum if that's what you could call her was okay with anything i done hey she's the first person to offer me marijuana and yes i accepted i had such a great role model, My father was not around) Anyway getting back to it, I was starting to have a lot of days off school i was real sick my mother asked me "when was your last period" i shrugged it off and said "Last month" My mother said "maybe you should got to the doctors", I didn't know what she meant i was just sick. I was at a friends I told her about what my mum said her response maybe your pregnant, I was dazed i said "I ain't having no baby". I did decided to go to the youth clinic and my friend came with me the doctor their confirmed i was indeed pregnant i said the same thing i said to my friend i ain't having no baby i want an abortion, So the doctor wanted a ultrasound, Had a ultrasound that day the tech asked if i wanted to know the sex i was like no i'm having a abortion, she walked out of the room and a doctor came in and talked to me about i was to far to have a abortion and there was other options i discovered i was 23 weeks pregnant and i was having a baby boy . I was stunned i didn't know what to do, I had to tell my mum As i walked in the front door i walked up to my mums bedroom where she was i sat on the bed and said "I went to the health clinic" my mum said "Oh yeah" I said "I'm pregnant" she took a deep breath in and told me about the option told me not to interrupt after she gave me the options number one been abortion, number two been adoption and three been keep the baby and she would be there for me. I said to her "I can't have a abortion i'm to far i'm having a boy". I am surprised that my mother did take the news pretty good. I had a healthy pregnancy and Morning sickness like no other i also turned 15, and then at 36 weeks and after a 36 hour labour i gave birth to my Beautiful baby boy weight 7 pound 9 oz and 46 cm long, i was amazed he was the best thing that ever happened to me (Oh and the father was to young apparently to be a father). after spend 8 days in hospital and then i took home my baby, My mum helped out a lot and she was so proud her first grandchild. Then 4 weeks after i had him i was aroused to discover he was not breathing i'm not going to go in to detail about exactly what happened but the ambos confirmed it. i got a letter in the mail from the coroner and the findings said nothing and death was pronounced as sudden infant death syndrome it broke my heart into a million bits and part of me died that day. I now realise it's hard enough to have a baby at 15 but then i had to bury my baby, It's the hardest thing i have ever in my life had to do. I had another baby at 38 weeks 8 pound 9 oz 55cm long i was 17, a little under a week until i turned 18, She was gorges and i was shit scared. (I started dating her father not long after my 1st baby left me) I then discovered i was pregnant with my third baby when i was 19, I had some trouble while i was pregnant my 3rd baby the umbilical cord was deformed and they where amazed that i made it to 41 weeks and said that usually the baby would have not survived past 12 weeks in the womb I gave birth to her she was so little and amazing 6 pound 2oz 45 cm long, soon after giving birth i had major hemorrhaging and need and D&C and blood transfusion, when i did get out of hospital i got really sick and had to be re-admitted i had septicemia and could feed my baby until i was better. (In the mean time me and my girls dad split it was the best choice he badly abused me while i was pregnant with our second baby). when my youngest daughter was 6 months old i met a man he was an amazing friend (I'm now married to him he is the best man in the world and i'm so happy i found him he brought 3 baby's of his own and we made us a family he has all boys they are great kids and my girls love their step brothers as if they where their own blood and flesh brothers, year of births 1999, 2001, 2003) When my youngest (at the time was 18 months old i discovered i was pregnant my pregnancy was a Breeze and at 40 weeks i gave birth to a wonderful baby boy 8pound 2oz 49 cm long. Last year in june i discovered i was pregnant i was amazed (I wanted another boy) but tragedy struck and at 16wks + 5 days i had a miscarriage, The baby i miscarried was perfectly formed it was a little boy, I am heart broken and words can't describe what this has done to me, If i could give my life for both my angels i would do anything, I would spend the rest of eternity in hell just to know my baby's are safe and well. right now i take every month as it comes in hope i can have anothe sorry story got lost I

For the past hour or so I have been waking up with this bad cramping sharp pain in my lower abdomen. It doesn't go away when I switch positions I tries laying sitting and walking. It comes every couple min but doesn't last very long. Also I really feel like a need to use the pee but I can't ? Can anyone help me explain this? also i am 2 and a half centimeters dilated and supposed to be induced in 5 days.

i am 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant and i have an induction date for in 3 days but i had an internal today and had a stretch and sweep,is there anything i can do to get things going naturally? would the sweep have done anything i had 2 already but they were at 38 and 39 weeks but maybe now i am over due it will actually do something thank you :) thanks guys and im also 2cm dialated and my cervix is soft and open and i lost my plug about 3 weeks ago, im sure it will happen very soon though :)

I will be 38 weeks tomorrow but for hte last hour i have been having what feels like very subtle contractions roughly every ten minutes. I was laying on the couch and when i sat up noticed there is also an increase in discharge all of a sudden... could this be the onset of labor? I want to have an idea so I can have someone come and stay with my other children. I was induced with all the others so i have no idea what labor feels like.

BTW this is my second labor, it's just been a VERY long time since the first... I don't remember a lot. Yes I am having cramping, some contractions last night, diarrhea, I feel like I have the flu and a ton of pelvic pain.

I went to the doc on monday and they said i havent dilated or started to efface. Im using Red Raspberry Leaf Tea, Evening primrose oil, excersize, and sex to get it started. Today i feel like he is extremely low and i have this odd scratching sensation low in my pelvis. Has anyone else felt this? Lol I like the Freddy comment. I dont know if hes scratching or not- its just the only way I can describe the feeling.

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and have gestational diabetes. We just moved into this condo and at first we loved it. That was until we started to unpack and notice things since there wasn't electricity when we first moved in. First off, the appliances are pretty much antique including the mini stacked washer and dryer. Second off, the bathrooms were filthy with black stuff in one toilet and yellow stuff on the floor in the other bathroom, assuming its dried up pee. Third off, low water pressure in the sinks and toilets. Fourth off, a kitchen infested with mold. It took us about a week of complaining before we got anywhere. They ended up replacing the faucets fixing that problem and now we're working on the mold problem. Since there is mold in the kitchen, its been off limits and we've been having to eat out everyday which is totally unhealthy for me. Shouldn't we be getting a discount off of our rent or something? Maybe a reimbursement of all the food that we had to buy eating out because of non access to the kitchen? I'm glad they're finally doing something about the mold, but all this is making me be unhealthy and this is definitely not healthy living conditions so we should get something back for them being so stupid to letting us move in.

okay im 38 weeks pregnant the other night i was in the hospital with contractions 2 min apart for hours they werent sure if i was in labor or not because how strong & close together my contractions were the only doubt they had was that i wasnt dilating. my cervix was a cm in length & soft . they gave me pain meds told me im in early labor & sent me home until they get worse. The next day i lost globs of what i believe was my mucus plug it was fairly big chunks of it . brown slimy snot looking stuff. Then today i was losing bigger peices of it , i went for a walk & lost a piece about 4 inches in length , its clear & light brown in colour. Im not sure if there is suppose to be that much mucus with my plug , i never had close to that amount with my first & i lost his all at once in a glob. Can someone please help , is this normal ? Hi everyone, Now iv just hit 39 weeks pregnant with my second child and i have been soooo lucky because i havnt got any stretch marks from this baby and my previous baby. I heard that it is herditry so if my mum got them then i thought i would get them too, but no. My first was born at 38 weeks and looks like this baby is going to be stubborn, do you think i can still get stretch marks in the last week/weeks of my pregnancy??? and how is it that i didnt get any anyway???? not that im complaining just wondering if its like something that i eat or drink or ???? and how common is it to not get any???? My body type is slim and my babys pop out on me like a basketball.

I had my Mirena inserted 6 weeks after I had my son and that was 3 1/2 years ago. While on the Mirena, I loved it (I didn't have a period or have to worry about it). I had it removed in March 2009 and wanted to try to conceive. My periods returned to normal usually in between 27 days and 31 days. For the past couple of months my periods have been irregular. One cycle it was 48 days, then 41 days, and now 38 days. I am just really worried that I have not become pregnant after 1 year of trying. I want to hear of anyone elses experiences with the Mirena and could this possibly cause infertility. My husband and I are both healthy and young (21 and 22).

I am 36.5 weeks pregnant and measuring 38.5 weeks. Big baby i know! My first was 9lbs 10.5 oz...4 days early. I am also 2-3 cm dilated. What i am asking is what are some tricks that worked for any of you to start labour? I know alot will say Baby will come when ready. But he is going to be huge and i just want some ideas to think about. I am not having many contractions which is kind of disappointing i thought i would be by now as i was with my first,,, i am tired and very stressed about the size of the baby.

my due date is 11 days away. for the past few days i've had this horrible pain on my left side. a stabbing pain in my groin (like halfway between my leg and pubic bone) and horrible pain in my left hip (kind of radiates towards my bum). it's only on my left side and is much worse when i'm laying down. any suggestions / ideas??

Never noticed any tightening of my belly (sometimes i get very light cramps) The doctor checked me to see if anything is going on with my cervix and she just said it was soft and not dialated. I just have this feeling that i am going to be overdue... Does no having any pains and signs that baby is coming mean your not going into labor anytime soon?? Hello to all mummies and mummies to be. I need to vent a little bit and i also have a question. Here goes. I am 38 weeks pregnant, and i found out during my first trimester that the guy i was with cheated on me and got his ex-girl/ baby mama pregnant too. (we were only apart by like 2-3 weeks). Anyways so pretty much my whole pregnancy had sucked sh*t. o btw, the other girl got to enjoy her pregnancy because she didnt kno. he jus told he 2 days ago. So now that im nearing the birth of my baby, i have been thinking "finally, its almost over and i get to see my precious little one"....i couldnt be happier. so as if i havnt been thru enough in the past 9 months, yesterday he tells me that his mom told him she doesnt think my baby is his. Mind you this guy got me pregnant on purpose, afte ri told him i wasnt ready for a child. so why is his mom saying this? becuz i havnt gone over to the house since i have been pregnant. she's pretty much in love with his ex and will do anything to get them back together. but i dont even want to be with this guy. she has never shown ANY interest about me or her grandchild. so i asked him how what she says makes him feel, and this a**hole tells me that even though he knows the baby is his, he can't help but have sum doubts.... CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! So i told him when the baby is born we will do a paternity test becuz i have absolutely to hide. How is it that HE cheats on me, and i'm the one having to deal with the consequences.. so my question is, after i have the baby, can they do a paternity test right at the hospital? or do i have to go to a clinic to do that? because i want to get that done ASAP! thnx in advance everybody

im 38 weeks pregnant and have been having braxton hicks since last night every 10 mins, sometimes i get cramping with them but sometimes they are painless, ive also been having alot of white discharge and frequent bowel movements, is this cause for concern? as im unsure to ring the midwife as i dont want to waste their time if its nothing.

hi all, i am 38.4 weeks pregnant and had bloods taken at my 36 week check. my iron level was 9.5... i have been taking 200mg 3 times a day for about a week. i want to deliver in a midwife led unit but have been told they need to be back up to 10 or i will have to go to consultant led unit. supposing i deliver in approx 2 weeks, does anyone know if this is enough time for my levels to go up? since its just a small amount? has anybody had this happen to them and did their levels go back up quickly? midwife just said id 'probably' be ok... thanks

it hurts to where i can barely walk like i would have to stop.i am not having contractions or anything.its been like this for about a week.when i wake up it hurts jus basically all day.its so annoying cause im ready to have my baby.so is this a sign labor will start soon?

im 37 weeks pregnant(38 on sunday) and in October 2008 I was told that i have HPV. but when i found out i was 20 years old and the doctor told me that they wouldnt be able to do some type of "test" that consists of them taking a piece of my cervix and then test it until i turned 21. well once i turned 21 i found out that i was pregnant and it really hasnt seemed to cross my mind until now, but i know that HPV is pretty much an std, and now im scared that when i give birth will it be possible to pass HPV on to my baby? i have a doctor appt on tuesday so i plan on asking then, but i want to be able to calm my nerves for the time being. so... HPV, can i pass it on to my baby from vaginal birth??

I currently work in NSW doing both secretarial and sales roles. i am currently getting paid a fixed amount for the secretarial role of 560 p/w for a 38 hr week and no commissions for sales. my employer is amalgamating my original job of sales with the secretarial job. For the next two months i will remain on the fixed amount, Then i will revert to the role i was originally hired for which is sales (which i was hired for 2 weeks ago and then the receptionist found out she was pregnant 2 days after i started and left straight way thus i have been doing both jobs and why i wasn't put on the retainer straight away). i will be put on a retainer of between 250-300 p/w for a working week of between 38 and 45 hours but still doing both jobs. A commission of 2% will be paid on top of my retainer (the average sale is 12,000 and round about 3 sales a month for the other members of the sales team we deal in specialist systems). therefore a 38 hr week @ 300 will be on $7.90 p/h. so my question is what is the minimum wage for a 27 yr old who finished the HSC (if that matters)

I am nausea's beond reason every little smell makes it worse, have this horrible headache,i am tired, cramping , have sharp little pain in my vaginal area, my back hurts and my bowl movements are lose.Is it early stages of labor or just a bug??
