Open Question: 40 weeks pregnant, bishop score of 5, evening primrose?
(Fri, 21 Nov 2008 00:35:25 GMT)
Well, today marks me at 40 weeks pregnant with number 3. Went to Dr yesterday who informed me that i am 2cm dilated, cervix 2cm long (40% effaced) and presentation at -1. Was told that i had a Bishop score of 5 - which i think was a little incorrect as you are meant to receive an extra point for each previous vaginal delivery and preeclampsia (which would make me an 8).
Was also booked in to be induced 23rd November today is 21st (aust.). Dr doesnt know if bubs will hold out that long but i

Open Question: has any of you struggled with weight gain during pregnancy?
(Thu, 20 Nov 2008 22:53:14 GMT)
I'm 28w3d and I've already gained 22 lbs. I was very small prior to being pregnant, only 107lbs and never had any issues with weight. But now it seems that I'm gaining 2-3 lbs every 2 weeks. At my last checkup 2 weeks ago, I was shocked to see that I had gained 6 lbs over the span of 2 weeks - I couldn't believe it! I then realized that we were away for the weekend so I seemed to have indulged in things here and there but six lbs!!!! I don't even drink sugary drinks or sodas at all as I'm a bi

(Thu, 20 Nov 2008 22:16:44 GMT)
A friend of mine is pregnant and due in July. I'm a bit worried for her because she's EXTREMELY tiny. I don't just mean skinny. I mean she's only like 4'7" and 103 pounds. She's only 6 weeks now and already showing. I can't even imagine how big she'd be if she did get to 40 weeks. In your opinion do you think she could make it too 40 weeks?

Month 1 = Weeks 1-4
Month 2 = Weeks 5-8
Month 3 = Weeks 9-13

Open Question: can you help me to feel better? Alchoholic mom is ruining me...?
(Thu, 20 Nov 2008 12:33:11 GMT)
I'm currently 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant, for those of you not too hip on the timing of gestation, that means i'm a day overdue, no biggie.
Anyways, my mother called me yesterday while i was at my prenatal appointment and left a drunken message about how she's in detox and she's sorry, and she's not going to be there for my baby's birth, or a while afterwards while she compleates the program.
I'm 22 years old, and this isn't the first time she's skipped out on me when i need her the most, w

Open Question: I am 40 weeks pregnant and exhausted - how will I get through labor?
(Wed, 19 Nov 2008 20:41:20 GMT)
I am due to have my second baby any day now. For a few weeks I had insomnia. I was only sleeping 3-4 hours per night and actually felt pretty alert during the day. Now for the past week I have been sleeping 7-8 hours per night and I am extremely exhausted during the day. Every day I think to myself "I better not go into labor today because I do not have the energy for it!" I am eating healthy, relaxing as much as I can and taking my vitamins. Hello. I have always had very irregular periods (between 28-40.) I haven't taken a birth control pill since April. So there's the background info :) I am now at my 41st day with no period. Open Question: I am just a little curious?
(Wed, 19 Nov 2008 14:45:23 GMT)
I am over 35 weeks pregnant and I went to the doc yesterday. I am 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. I know that this can be normal for many women and they can stay this way until they are overdue. I was just wondering because last week I was 1 cm and 40% effaced. So, it looks like each week I am progressing more. My doc said this was very good to be my first pregnancy that he normally sees it in woman who have done it before.
So, my question is are there any women out there who were progressing l

Open Question: What are the risks for having another placenta abrubtion in subsequent pregnancies?

resulted in a placenta abruption at 40 weeks with an emergency c-section. There was no damage to my uterus and i delivered a healthy baby boy. I am concerned if i am at high risk for this happening again because of the previous abruption, my age, and multiple pregnacies. Is it wise to continue with this pregnancy or are the risks too great?
