Open Question: Help...Implantation bleeding and conception question...Confused?
(Thu, 09 Jul 2009 14:10:56 GMT)
I am currently pregnant and trying to find out exactly when I conceived...I got pregnant in the month of March and had sex only twice once on March 8th and once on March 22nd I had for sure implantation bleeding on March 26th with slight cramping and a week or so after that started feeling tender breasts.
Now I should also so I had a sonogram that dated my conception on the 8th and if that is the case I implanted 18 days after which just seems to long to me...I truely believe I conceived on the 22nd, one cause I'm that intuned with my body and two from keeping track of my periods I have a 40 day cycle that falls on the 22nd of March, but according to what I read 4 days isn't long enough to implant...
When do you think I conceived? And is 18 days after conception to long for implantation and isn't 4 days not long enough?

Open Question: pregnant... need urgent advice.??
(Thu, 09 Jul 2009 04:55:38 GMT)
LMP 19 June, 09 (this I am sure on)
Normally 32 day cycle. BFP on 15 June, 09
Had a little old blood between 24.6.09 and 29.6.09 nothing since just a normal discharge (pregnancy).
I went for an ultrasound on 2 July, 2009 and they only saw a sac and measured it at just on 4 weeks. Dr tells me it should have shown more since it would have been 6 weeks and 2 days LMP. He told me that maybe just maybe the pregnancy stopped growing at 4 weeks.
It has been a week today since my last ultrasound. The Dr measured my HcG and apparently this week it is within the range of 5-6 weeks. If the pregnancy stopped at 4 weeks shouldn’t this be low by now? (being 3 weeks ago).
Accordingly to my LMP I should be 7 weeks and 2 days. But according to my HcG I am in between 5 and 6 weeks.
I don’t know what to think. Dr told me it is likely to be 40/60 chance. 40% being good.
Has anyone experienced this?
What do you think? Is this pregnancy going to be viable? Or is it going to become a miscarriage?
I'm going to get a second opinion from another Dr this afternoon.

Open Question: What should I do with this relationship? (Not a 13 year old asking if he likes me.... :)?
(Thu, 09 Jul 2009 00:32:13 GMT)
Okay, so I've been best friends with him for 8 years. We've talked about dating, but never did... until this year. I have been in a relationship for the past several years, I got 3 beautiful babies out of that. He loves them dearly, as my friend, and my significant other. Well, everything was great. I moved 300 miles away to help my mother out by house/dog sitting while she moved with my stepfather (Army) for about a year, so my brother and sister could see their father before he is sent to Afghanistan next year. Well, he was supposed to move here after she left, I was helping her pack and the house only has 3 bedrooms, so it was already packed. Anyways, I was making the trip every weekend to go to work. Then I had car troubles and had to quit my job and stay here. I found out a few days later that I was pregnant. We were both happy, as we were neither "trying" or preventing, just letting fate take it's course. He was very happy since his ex fiance had an abortion when he really wanted the baby. Well, a week later, I started spotting, and the pregnancy test was much lighter, and the more I bled, the lighter it got until I had nothing. During that week, I told him that I "didn't want this thing in me if it was dying." He interpreted that as I didn't want the baby, as we hardly talked for a while there since his mother made a suicide attempt and he had to leave. (She was in an accident and has brain trauma, so he stayed there to help with the bills the best he could while his stepfather was in treatment for alcohol) Back to the point, during that time, we really had a lot of disconnection and he was resorting to some of his old ways that we both knew were above him. I couldn't go there, as my vehicle was out of commission. We tried to talk when we could, which was sparse since he doesn't like cell phones. I turned to some friends I thought I could trust to confide in. They basically did their best to turn me against him and push me towards my ex from high school. I just needed a friend I could confide in and work through it all. My mother even told me that it would be in my and my children's best interest to be with my former high school flame, since he was military and could provide better. Between that, the hormones, and the emotional tole of the distance between us, I caved with the "we need a break" line. I never intended to, but I did wind up in a short lived relationship with my ex. Seemed that as soon as the pregnancy hormones cleared out, I could think and realize the mistake I had made. I ended that quickly, and took about 2 1/2 months to reevaluate my life, and just kept a casual relationship with all parties involved, never allowing myself to sway neither way. Finally, I decided I needed to talk to my sweetheart, my best friend, about my feelings. We talked, and decided that we wouldn't rush it, but we would get back together before long. He would move with me after the work was done. We just hugged and kissed, cuddled and made love all weekend when I went there for the weekend of the 4th. Oh, we talked and just did our normal things too. :)
Well, the main reason, well only reason, he stated he wanted to stay was because he is working for the family company and they just got a lot of work. He would make good money if he stayed and save up about $10,000. The problem is that his uncle is unreliable in the paying people department and will gladly work him for 18 hours a day or more most days. He's a carpenter. Well, by my calculations, if he moved here, and got a job with the same pay rate but only full time (40 hours), and I worked a full time day job while the kids were in daycare, then I could work 3 nights a week or so at a place I can make a couple thousand a month waitressing. Between that, we could pay the bills, the debts, afford to do fun things, and still save about $2,000 to $3,000 a month. When we moved back home, we could have about $35-45k saved up. Enough for a new start. He has a couple grand in the "bank" (unkies iou jar), I'm broke now since I moved down here and had a hard time finding work and spent my only savings. Anyways, I'm not sure if this is his only reason even though he ensures me that he wants to stay just for work and that he trusts me with anything, I am his best friend. I'm so lonely here, the only friends and family I have are 6 hours away, and it's just so hard without anyone. I haven't gotten to talk to him in the last 2 days since I saw him, so the emotional toll is just killing me. I'm trying to do the best I can to make my kid happy, but I'm so miserable, I don't know if I am. I can hardly eat. I have to make myself, and even then, I only eat about 500 or less calories a day (not including drinks) and I can't sleep. I literally have to have 4 beers around midnight to lessen the stress I have to fall asleep. I cry at random times, I lay there for hours at night thinking about him... I had quit smoking, but since I had to leave him, I'm almost at 2 packs a day.

Open Question: Was your second baby early, on time, or late? and by how much each way?
(Wed, 08 Jul 2009 22:02:19 GMT)
My son was induced and was born the day after his due date.
I'm pregnant again (30 weeks) and i read on the internet that second babies are usually born around 34 weeks as opposed to 40 like your first child.
I know there is a lot of untruths on the internet so i just wanted some real life examples.
Thanks for your help. x

Open Question: Did you/would you do the cord blood thing?
(Wed, 08 Jul 2009 21:26:15 GMT)
I remember reading a flyer about saving the cord blood when I was 40 weeks pregnant. I was too far along to get things organized at that point, but i've always wondered about it, and I kinda regret not doing it with my son. I think I might seriously look into it for our second child. It is so friggin expensive though!
Did you do it? Would you do it?

Resolved Question: had my membranes stripped......?
(Wed, 08 Jul 2009 18:43:33 GMT)
I am 38 weeks pregnant and due for a repeat section next tuesday if labor doesnt start on its own. I had an emergency section with my first and am desperately trying a VBAC this time around. I cant go until 40 weeks, they wont let me, so I have a section planned at 39 weeks. I am only 1cm dialated and soft, didnt say if I was effaced at all. I had an appointment this morning at 11 and had my membranes stripped - OUCH! Anyways, how successful was this for you? I am so trying to have her naturally - any suggestions to aide in the sweep is welcomed too!

Open Question: should i go to my basketball tournament on weekend near when my pregnant wife is possibly due?
(Wed, 08 Jul 2009 17:25:10 GMT)
my wife is pregnant and expected due on August 3rd, but the doctor is saying the baby is showing ahead a week and a half, which would make him a full 40 weeks on Friday July 24th, but i got a basketball tournament the following days 25th/26th to which i am flying to, and i already booked the plane ticket months ago. ill only be gone 36 hours. do you think if the baby is not born yet, that i should go to the tournament? i have alot of family at home just in case...do you think its too risky going within that 36 hour time frame? i heard most women having their first baby go past their due dates...

Open Question: can sonograms miss twins at 20 wks?
(Wed, 08 Jul 2009 01:20:29 GMT)
i am 32 wks pregnant and i lost 15 pounds in the beginning. my sonograms have been at 12 wks and 20 wks had a 3d at 27 wks. i am much bigger than my first pregnancy. my first was a girl and i gained 20lbs. i don't know how much i gained from this pregnancy because i was overweight when i got pregnant and i lost 15 pounds and have not put it back on. i also tried on a pair of jeans that i wore b4 my first pregnancy with my daughter and they fit except i couldn't button them of course but had i tried them b4 i got pregnant i wouldn't even have been able to get them passed my thighs. so i assume that i weight near what i did when i got pregnant with my daughter if thats the case i have already gained almost 40 pounds. my daughter was small weighing in at 6lbs and 12 oz and my doc said that my belly was really high and that it look like this second baby would be big. i am going to see my doc next week where i will have him double check for two but i wonder with all the sonograms i have had can they still miss twins? also i feel lots of movement and lots of pain in my ribs which i did not have with my daughter and also have lots of movement near my bladder.i also have lots of trouble breathing and feel like my skin can not stretch and more i feel lots of pain lie if i flex my muscle and can't unflex it. so again with two regular sonograms and one 3d can they still miss twins???? any feed back would be very helpful. thank you so much for your input

Open Question: I REALLY do not mean to sound dumb but this has never happened to me before!?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 20:11:11 GMT)
I slept with an ex on the 3rd April. I had a very bright red period from the 7th to the 14th AND it was a WEEK early... My ex wasn't very nice to me in the first place, and I had starting dating somebody else, whom I slept with on the 19th 20th and 23rd April. That was short lived and I would like to stress that this was VERY out of character for me!!
I am not quite sure why, but I thought I was due on my next period around the 4th of May and did 3 home tests on the 6th May that were all positive. I looked in my diary a few days later, and going by my MARCH period I was not due on my period until the 12th May (bearing in mind my APRIL period was EARLY).
My Dr gave me the 17th January as my due date. The sonographer at my ultrasound said she would have to give me a date off baby measurements as the date of my LMP didn't match! She then said I was 10 weeks and three days pregnant and was due on the 9th JANUARYand that this was my 40 WEEKS gestation! WHO AM I PREGNANT TO???
Baby Boy Due In July i'm not sure how to reply hun, but I forgot to mention to you all that I have been very honest to both people about this, I'm not a sneaky, honest! xx

Open Question: This is going to sound bad, but I just want to know what you think...?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 15:14:35 GMT)
Okay there are two parts of my question that I want opinons about...the first one...I am 19wks pregnant Due at the end of November and I have two potential fathers for my baby. Now I don't need a moral opinon because there isn't anything anyone can tell me that I already don't know...believe me I'm living with it and can't change it, but here it goes...
My ex and I broke up at the end of February and the first weekend of March I was with another man (only once)...two weeks later I was with my ex. (one time). I have ALWAYS had irregular periods (NEVER a normal 28day cycle) and was keeping track and it seemed to come 40-42 days. About 4 days after I was with my ex I had implantation bleeding and about a week after that my boobs started hurting. I thought it might have been my period coming because I was so irregular, but my ex and I have been trying to have a baby so I was pretty intune with my body I thought I'd take a test and it did show positive. I went to the doctors and the sonogram was showing I conceived on the weekend I was with the other guy NOT my ex. But I can't help but feel that when I told them my lmp that they went by that and a normal 28 day cycle because it does fall on that weekend and compared the sonogram to my lmp then comparing my lmp to the sonogram ( told them I have irregular periods). Everything physically points to my ex the only thing that doesn't is my sonogram which does give me doubts. I also have doubts about my ex too becasue we were together for 3 years and I never got pregnant, but we didn't keep track until the end...I understand what I have to do in the end is get a paternity test, but being anxious I just want to know if anyone thinks this sonogram could be wrong and my ex is the dad.
my second question...I have an incompatant cervix and had to get a cerclage...they are taking the stiches out my 37th week (which I know as soon as they do I'll have the baby) and that makes me nervouse if the sonogram is wrong because I would have my baby 5 weeks early rather than 3 weeks early. So I guess my 2nd question is the same as my first can this sonogram be wrong and should I be worried?
Thank you everyone for your answers...the most important thing is that my baby is healthy and the answers were helpful I'm sure they won't take the stitches out until everything looks completely normal. As for the other part maybe not what I wanted to hear, but I guess I'll know in four months.

Resolved Question: How are all of you pregnant ladies doing?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 14:57:40 GMT)
How is your pregnancy going? I'm just bored and curious to see how everyone is doing. Please feel free to share how things are moving along.
1. How far along are you?
2. How have you felt physically and emotionally?
3. How much weight have you gained?
4. What is your fundal height? (include pic if you have one)
5. What kind of symptoms did you get?
6. If you are close to 40 weeks, have you dilated and effaced yet?
My answers:
1. I'm 39weeks and 6 days pregnant today. I don't look it though.
2. I myself am so ready for this baby. My belly is small, but my baby is doing fine. I'm so sick of going to the hospital. I've been going twice a week to non stress tests since the 1st of June. I've only been going because I'm so small. But every time I go they always tell me my baby is doing great. His heart rate is great and he moves a lot. He is sitting low and has been for a while now. I'm hoping he comes soon.
3. I've gained 25 pounds.
4. My fundal height measures at 31cm. Here is a pic I took of myself yesterday... http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss250/kc32887/ThebumpWeek397-6-093.jpg
5. Overall my pregnancy has been very easy. I never got any morning sickness, my boobs never got sore, I don't have any stretch marks, I still have my balance, I haven't been uncomfortable (until now that my baby is sitting lower and closer to my bladder).
6. At my last appointment they told me I was 1cm dilated, 50% effaced, and my baby's head is at 0 station. Today I go in again for a non stress test and my dr appointment. Hopefully I've dilated more.

Resolved Question: Quick Labour, anyone?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 10:18:29 GMT)
hi to all my contacts and anyone else that reads my question, Just a little news.......i posted a question on sat eve on how terrible things are after being robbed by some woman while heavily pregnant and literally just about to pop... well later that day i went shopping with my mom and sis and went out for supper and had a lovely rest of the day, got home around 9 and spent a little time with my hubby, we got into bed around 11 and 2 mins later the mother of all contractions hit me, i was screaming for dear life from the word go, Im into natural so the words that came out of my mouth were like cuss words, EPIDURAL!!!! it hadnt even been 2 mins and the next one hit, i was rudely thrown into the peak of labour with no warning or sign, although i had been having contractions for 2 weeks that were stronger than braxton hicks so even in-between these nasty pains i thought is this really it? I poured myself a huge hot bath and let my hubby sort out or little boy, i had another couple of contractions in that time, very close together, the words that came out my mouth consisted only of mother f cker (sorry) i felt like pushing in the bath so we rushed to the hospital when we walked in the door i demanded something for the pain, they laughed and said they first need to see if im acctually in labour and then call the doctor........ until they got me to the room and heard the scream that came from me, i went to the bathroom and had the pain of all pains with my hubby holding me up and my water burst open right there on his new shoes........ only then did the mid wife realize this was serious.. she tried to rush me to the labour room and i would not budge... i tried to bite anyone who came near me to move me, i wanted to have the baby right there, inbetween contractions i was pulled to the labour room then i refused to get on the bed, i wanted to stand or kneel, they were having none of that, so on the table eventually and straight into pushing, no gynae to be seen, everytime i pushed the mid wife did something with her hand down there and it distracted me as i told her to move her had as my contraction got to the peak, it threw me off, they were trying to sort the medication and everything while this was happening and the mid wife had to run out, i took my chance right there only my hubby standing next to me and no hands in the way i gave the mother of all pushes and out she popped my hubby actually caught her, wow it was all over and i was relieved, at 11, 40 our little girl was born, Geus how long we were at the hospital before she popped out? 10 mins!!!!
it wasnt over yet.... after baby was out the damage was assesed and i had severe tearing due to the rapid decent of the baby, i tore inside and outside and had to get more than 20 stiches... i was not happy, after going through child birth i still had to get stiched up :( but to tell you the truth i had an episiotmy with my son i only got 5 stiches and it was on thick perinium skin even with such a severe tear it is not half as painful as the cut they gave me with my son, its just in a better place and on thinner skin, even though its severe i am glad i wasnt cut,
the following morning my little girl and i were discharged she wasnt even 10 hours old yet and we were home already and have been doing great :)
thanks for all the advice and friends ive made on yahoo,
anyone else had such a quick birth? this was 40 mins in total from beginning to end,

Resolved Question: Another Could I Be Pregnant Questions?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 02:03:09 GMT)
Alright so my husband and I had sex 2 days before I ovulated. We used a condom I got my period. It was normal. It was pretty heavy. I have seemed to skip this period. I am currently on CD 40 I usually get my period on CD 28-30.
Also keep in mind that I have a 8 month old son and I am not breastfeeding. I got my first PP period at 6 weeks.
Is it possible to be pregnant? I have no symptoms at all.

Open Question: I'm 37 weeks 2 days pregnant. Should i walk?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 01:49:59 GMT)
I was 3cm dilated and heard somebody told to walk to induce labor. However, I want my baby come out around 39-40 weeks ( because my husband is kind of busy this week so he would take good care of us if baby came out in 1or 2 more week ). Should i walk more? Or walking still has any good benefit except to be induce?
Thanks.

Also I have been having excessive clear and yellow discharge.

A weeks ago I was still a fingertip dialated if that means anything...
Thanks in advance..

Open Question: What could be wrong with my pregnancy?
(Tue, 07 Jul 2009 00:44:35 GMT)
I am 40 weeks pregnant. Already dilated to 4 centimeters 80% thinned out soft cervix baby's head is very low. I went to the doctor today and after my midwife did an internal exam (which took her a lot longer than normal- usually she's in an out) after he finished she automatically was like we need to get you over to do a sono (there's a sono dept. in the office). She did not tell me anything this time (usually she say's how far dilated thinned and etc.) nothing but, I don;t know what I am feeling down there. She said I don't know if it is the baby's face, bag of water's then she just stopped. he also said something about maybe having a c-section. To tell you the truth I am very very scared right now. I have never broken a bone in my body let alone been cut open. I really do NOT want to be cut open, I know a lot of women go through this but I am so darn scared. I go tomorrow for the sono, but does anyone know what it might be? Please help answer asap! Scared in Florida...Thank you in advanced.
I forgot to say that we already know the head is down. She did say something like she's not sure if it was his nose (this is what she was leaning towards), head, eye area, chin area, water bag(this you would think she knows..right?), placenta, or something else. She was also saying things about having a c-section & I am scared to death of being cut. Never even broke a bone. I am just so worried and I know I am not going to be able to sleep again tonight since tomorrow 1st thing I am supposed to be at the office for the sono. I don't remember if I said it before or not but I have given birth 4 other times and never had any problems. She usually is in and out w/ the internal exam & it took her forever (it felt like). Then after they couldn't get me in for the sono the put me in a big recliner for some test, I don't know what it was for and have never done it w/ any of my other kids. I guess I will post tomorrow and let every one know what was going on. Thank you so much for your answers.

Resolved Question: 40wks pregnant and induction question.....?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 19:57:59 GMT)
Hi all...
I'm 40 weeks pregnant today (yay!) although have had quite a rough pregnancy and not even the midwives thought I'd last this long. I had my antenatal appointment today and they've told me my lil man is 3/5ths engaged (yay!) but I'm measuring 48cm (boo!)....I've had growth scans at 35 and 36 weeks which showed my lil man was measuring full term at that point and I'd had excess fluid which has since reduced.
I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow and was just wondering whether she's going to be more likely to offer me a sweep or arrange an induction and if that's the case how soon after do they book it for? Within days or a week later? I know no one can tell me what she's going to say but if anyone else has been in the same position I'd appreciate your experiences =)
My midwife has asked me to give her a call as soon as I come out of the appointment to let them know my plan of care, I'm assuming to arrange a sweep or another one if I'm not offered one or if I have one and it doesn't work....
Thanks all and hope you're all well x
Sorry I probably should have mentioned that the 'rough' part of the pregnancy has been on me and not my lil man and this is also my 3rd baby. I had to be induced on my first as after 44 hours of active labour I wasn't dilating and I delivered 4 hours later.
I would obviously love to go naturally but the strain on my body now is unbearable (I also have SPD which is horrific due to the extra weight) and if they offer me the option of getting him out sooner I really think I need to go for it

Resolved Question: My husband's smoking is ruining our finances and our marriage! (Long)?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 18:17:01 GMT)
My husband smokes a lot. He spends more on cigarettes then I do on groceries in any given week. I picked up 29 empty turkish royals boxes this week, and 30 last week. Which means that he spends at least $175 a WEEK on cigarettes.
He charged up a credit card to the limit with cigarettes, he steals money from our childrens' piggy banks, from my purse, he takes the laundry mat money for cigarettes. He spends his gas money ($40 a week) on smokes, and then has no gas for his car.
When he doesn't have them, he is a terrible person to be around. He is short tempered, destructive, hateful, and unreasonable. He once backhanded me across the face (while I was pregnant!) for telling him we had no more money because he spent it on cigarettes.
I have reached a breaking point and devised a plan, and I want to know if this sounds plausable. I have been collecting all the empty cartons that I find and saving them. At the end of the month I will put them all in as many boxes as nessesary, and wrap them like gifts. He always says he wants a supercharger for his car. I am also putting a photograph of the thing he wants, with the price of the item and the total of cigarettes (the smokes are MORE then the supercharger!) in the box as well. I also have the doctor's perscription of pills and patches to stop smoking, lots of Orbit gum, and a few support group brouchures that I will give him.
If he won't stop smoking, If he doens't even try and just refuses, I am going to have to divorce him. Its hurting our credit, our marriage, our kids, everything. It would be easier to cut ties then to deal with it at this point.
IF he does stop smoking, of course, I won't divorce him. I will also buy the supercharger, since we will have that extra money.
Does this seem like a good idea? The way I see it, if he loves cigarettes over his wife and kids, then he just doesn't love us and we're better off without him. I covered the bases with a firm plan and a reward. Is this a good idea?
please note that I am not just saying stop smoking or I'm leaving you, I am offering a perfectly reasonable, medically responsible solution. He complains how much he hates smoking while he smokes, if offering a solution isn't good nothing ever will be. We hare $400 in debt on cigarettes alone.

Open Question: Im confused by due dates and weeks pregnant?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 16:38:46 GMT)
When I found out I was pregnant I did not know when my last period was. They figured out how many weeks I am from doing an ultrasound. They said it is actual fetal age (not the weeks since my last period) but the thing that is confusing is from my understanding you are actually pregnant for 38 weeks from conception(fetal age) or 40 weeks from your last period.
So I am thinking my due date should have been 38 weeks from the date that they say I actually concieved. But the due date they have given me is 42 weeks from when my last period should have been. should I be going by the due date they gave me or expect to come two weeks earlier?? I am 13 weeks right now so the due date isn't a huge deal yet, but I would really like to know.
-
Resolved Question: I'm not sure if you will know the answer to this, but my question is on age based off of the ultrasound...?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 16:16:35 GMT)
Ok, so the first day of my last period was October 1, 2008. So my due date is July 8, 2009, only 2 days away. BUT since technically you don't ovulate for another 2 weeks, does this mean that while you are considered 40 weeks pregnant your baby's age is 38 weeks when born?
Like at my last ultrasound I was exactly 36 weeks and 6 days pregnant and the ultrasound tech measured my baby at an estimated due date of 35 weeks exactly. Does that mean he is right on track due to the 2 week time frame you technically are not pregnant or is he just measuring 2 weeks and a day late? I mean, I know it's just an estimate either way you get your due date, but should the baby be measuring 37 weeks when you are 37 weeks pregnant or 35 weeks when you are 37 weeks pregnant?
I hope I'm not confusing anyone with this question. Does anyone KNOW the answer?

Open Question: can this baby be mine?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 15:37:59 GMT)
me ane my girlfriend broke up for a year.she is pregnant now.her due date calculated from the first day of her last period was supposed to be june 25th .on one off her scans the doctor said he thinks july 11th.i had unprotected sex with her on 29th of oct 2008.if she has the baby around 11th of july it will be over 36 weeks since i slept with her.i no pregnancy is normally 38 weeks from conception and 40 weeks from last period. if she is mistaken bout the date off last period or she had an odd cycle. cud i be the dad.we both wud want it to be mine.she thinks the baby is not mine tho.do some pregnancys take longer or shorter from conception .i do think she is capeable of mixing up dates just by knowing her so well.she said her last period was realy strange to. wud that mean anything. i want so much for the baby to be mine. we are going to get back together and i will love the child one way or another. your answers will be so appreaciated

Resolved Question: Has anyone gone through an induced labor without pain relief?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 14:10:39 GMT)
I am 40 weeks, 6 days pregnant, and if the baby isn't here by 42 weeks the doctors will want to induce. I'm wondering if anyone on here has been induced with pitocin and still managed to give birth without an epidural or other pain medications? Also, when you're induced are you and the baby constantly monitored, or are you able to get up and walk around.
I know this sounds harsh, but I only want to hear outcomes with induction from people who were able to do it without pain relief. I need some positive stories right now.

Open Question: how do you deal with work when you are 36 weeks pregnant?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 14:08:53 GMT)
i am almost 36 weeks pregnant and work 40 hours a week and its killing me. i have an easy job but i am stuck sitting for 8 hours with little breaks and they keeping giving me more responsibilities the closer i get to my due date. its not to bad but this 8 hours of sitting kill my back. i had to actually call in sick one day because my back was hurting so badly. i guess i just dont know what to do this last month and i cant afford to take off work because my maternity leave only works if doc tells me i cant work or i have my son.

Resolved Question: i'm 23 and have been seeing a 46 year old women for the past 6 weeks. Could she be pregnant?
(Mon, 06 Jul 2009 07:04:13 GMT)
Dispite the age, the chemistry is awesome! We really enjoy each others company. The first few days i met her she was having her period. Now, 6 weeks later after having unprotected sex atleast 40-50 times since then she hasn't had her period since. Is this a potential sign she could be pregnant? I asked her about it and she said her cycle was way off for some reason. But I thought about it more and maybe she is pregnant? If she is pregnant... can she just take a pill to eliminate it if we catch it early in the process? Please advise...
yes its no joke... we have sex 3-4 times when we see each other.... we see each other an average of 2-3 times a week. So yes it does add up to 40-50 times. I always pull out before i explode. I find her extremely attractive and I do have a high sex drive... maybe all the soccer i play helps? I will have a more indepth conversation about her period cycle when i see her in person this week... thanks for the input.
Actually i'm very mature for my age. mentally and financially. 2 of my best friends are also in their 40's. I never went to college and have very few friends my age. Most are 30's and 40's... work force people... I have not had much success with girls my age. I find women attractive because they don't play those games and are more direct.
yeah its pretty crazy... her son is my age! But he lives 60 miles south... she has been divorced for a few years now... her husband was a parent planned marriage when she was 20. Korean culture i guess... don't get me wrong.. she dons't look her age at all.. she takes very good care of herself...
*update* she says she is just a few days off and no big deal. she told me not to worry about it and laughed. haha

Voting Question: How to get someone out of your house?
(Sun, 05 Jul 2009 19:31:20 GMT)
My fiance's uncle and gf are expecting a baby so am I. They have already mooched their way through his family trying to just live with people with out taking responsibility of getting their own place. We are on unemployment after my fiance got laid off from his job. His uncle is working 40 hours a week making 10 dollars an hour. I only offered them a place to stay temporarily when his own mother kicked him out. I meant a couch for maybe two weeks max. They have now moved in my future nursery and have been here for over 2 months. My fiance refuses to tell them they need to leave and it is his house. i have threatened multiple times to leave him if he doesn't get them out. The gf does nothing but create drama and abuse drugs. When his uncle is home from work all you hear is arguing. I am basically chased out of my home everyday because I can't stand the thought of being around them. I stay away from the house until late at night when I'm sure they're asleep. I am four and a half months pregnant and everytime we buy groceries I might get one serving and it's gone they buy some of thier own groceries and eat thiers and ours. I'm sick of it this is about half of the problems I am having please I need opinions.

Resolved Question: 40+6 when will placenta stop working?
(Sat, 04 Jul 2009 11:38:07 GMT)
I'm currently 40 weeks 6 days pregnant and NO SIGN of baby as of yet.
I'm being induced on Friday when i'll be 12 days overdue.
I had an ultrasound done at 38 weeks and the tech said my placenta was healthy and working fine, fluid levels were perfect and the baby was well.
So, from that time to being induced that'll be 3 weeks since my placenta etc was last looked at, will my placenta still be working when i go to get induced? I know the placenta starts to fail when you're overdue, but does that happen gradually or can it happen fast? I'm just scared of having a stillborn baby.
Don't give me " the baby will come when it's ready " lecture, because i've been reading up as to why women don't go into labour when they're overdue and some reasons are the positioning of the baby not putting enough pressure on the cervix causing labour to begin.

Voting Question: Could this maybe be it? 38 weeks pregnant.?
(Sat, 04 Jul 2009 09:31:27 GMT)
Last night I noticed I was having regular tightening in my belly about every ten mins, lasting about 30 seconds each, I timed them to practice but didn't think anything of it. Today I woke up at 4 am and have been having more painful tightening every 3-5 mins lasting about 40-70 seconds each... Could this be it or should I try not to get excited?

Voting Question: Should i be worried about pregnancy or something else?
(Sat, 04 Jul 2009 04:23:10 GMT)
0n June 19 my BF and I messed around without a condom. We were on our sides so no one was on top or on bottom. I felt him before he went in and there was no pre C it was completely dry. He wasn't in deep at all, it was way up top by my clitorous and it wasn't in that far. That lasted for like 20 seconds because I said i didn't want to go farther without protection.
I haven't had a period in June. It has been about 40 days since my last period. Last year we messed around (with condoms) and he DID ejaculate and I skipped a month. We did it again and I skipped a month. Then I was every other month until October. (Last year we did it in June and July.)
I took an equate early result pregnancy test (10 days after) and it was negatve
I decided I'd go with a "more trusted" brand and took a clearblue easy digital test (11 days after) and got a "Not pregnant"
Today, which is two weeks later, i took another equate and it was negative too
So, I don't think I'm pregnant but I'm still late.
I'm quite young so maybe it's normal?
Also if it matters, I don't sleep at all at night, i usually go to bed around 6am if at all and catch a few hours of sleep later in the day
Freaking out really really bad
I def learned my lesson never to mess around w/o a condom again

Voting Question: Has anyone else experienced preterm labour?
(Fri, 03 Jul 2009 12:01:01 GMT)
I am 35 weeks pregnant today, but exactly 6 days ago I went into hospital after about 6 hours of regular contractions at home that started at about 12:30pm. Stupidly I thought it was probably nothing because they weren't getting anymore painful. It turns out that I started going into preterm labour, and when I got to hospital at about 6:30pm the contractions became much more painful and were coming about every 2-3 minutes. I was given pethidine at about 9:30pm to help with the pain and help me relax. It certainly did the job for a couple of hours. But they started up again about midnight and were terribly painful so i was given another dose of pethidine. This seemed to calm things down and after another 2 days in hospital I was able to go home. After 2 physical examinations the night of the contractions, my cervix was only about 1.5cm dilated - and my waters have not broken.
I have experienced a few irregular contractions since being home, but nothing to stress about. I am curious if anyone has experienced anything similar and actually made it to 40 weeks. I am not too worried if I go into labour now at 35 weeks (as my sister had her baby in February this year and she was only 29 weeks), but would like to make it to 37 weeks.
My dr said it could go either way, but he has given me the impression I won't make it to the 40 week mark.

Resolved Question: sticky situation and almost 40 weeks pregnant?
(Fri, 03 Jul 2009 10:44:38 GMT)
around 36 weeks of my pregnancy we had to move for my husbands job, we had no choice it was move or have no income. I was on medicaid in sc and thought i could just transfer to alabama. when i got to new area i found out i had to re-apply in new state and get old state cancelled. well to get cancel letter took two weeks and now im still waiting on medicaid here to either accept or deny, she said it coulkd take up to two more weeks. til then i am uninsured and no doctor will see me. I had some mild abdomen pain last sunday and we went to er. After being there for 4 hours the pain subsided and they told me that baby looks in perfect health and I was 1 1/2 cm dilated. Well as of today I am 39 weeks and two days pregnant. I really have no choice except to just go to the er when I get contractions. I had all my prenantal tests done and had care up til my 36th week when we moved here. Like i said no one will accept me even to pay cash. I have called offices in my area up to an hour away and been shut down every time. the nurses last sunday said hopefully i will go into labor on my own. I want to have baby naturally and am wondering if by next week if i still have no signs of labor coming on at what point do i know if i have to be induced? And will the hospital end up doing it for me if i still dont have insurance or if by chance get denied since husband makes more money here? Please no rudness I really have tried everything even walk in clinics and health departments. without insurance no one will see me and a lot told me that i was too far along for them to take me as a patient now. this just seems like a nightmare!
for past couple days i have felt really tired and weak, also some extra discharge when i go to bathroom and a lot of back pain. I do walk everyday and we have had sex to try to get things going. hubby has decided if still nothing by next friday that we will go to er and just say im having abdomen pains or something just to get them to look and make sure everythings ok.
