Hi i have just found out im 6 weeks pregnant was just woundering how far along do i have to be before i get a midwife????

I usually get my period the last week of the month(usually before or on the 1st of the month) last month i got my period on the 1st it was noraml. i had sex around christmas time like a day or two after. i used the withdraw method. well i havent gotten my period as of today (the 6) and i took a pregnancy test on the 4th and it was negative. i have been crampy and sore down there but im just not sure. could a be pregnant?

ttc...not sure if I am pregnant or not, kind of a long story to get into, but I have been having some symtoms of pregnancy like frequent urination, headaches, very tired, light cramping, lower back ache, and a feeling of fullness in my lower stomach, but I haven't been having any breasts soreness, could I still be pregnant??? Last month (December 3rd-7th) i got my period on time everything was fine this month i had spotting it started the 2nd of january and ended the 3rd so i took a hpt (home pregnancy test) on the 4th i had no bleeding and this isn't normal for me not to bleed i didn't even need to use a pad it came up positive then i took another two came up positive again mind you i took this the 4th right around the time i was soposed to have my period so i asked a friend she told me to call my doctor i did right away on the next day which was yesterday i went in and got a blood test done my doctor had called me back and said my HCG level is at a 3 and she wants me to be at a 6..she said that it was positive but it could be a false positive pregnancy it makes absolutely no sense to me..she sad if it doesn't go up she will consider it negitive i think i ovulated the 21st and i think i may be one or two weeks pregnant is this normal being so early to be at a 3? I hope it goes up now i think something is wrong with me i have normal periods EVERY month and now this spotting it's just crazy exspecially with the positive urine tests i just need awnsers thank you for any advice it is very much appreciated. :(

I babysit my friend's 6 year old boy and 9 year old girl. They are generally very well behaved children but the little boy has a tendency to throw fits. These range from extremely annoying whining over the littlest thing to violent outbursts which include throwing things, kicking people, and screeching/crying. I know his parents both raise them right and there is no kind of abuse in the home. I never yell at them or hit them but I know past baby sitters have done this. So far the only thing that will work with this little boy is to put him alone in the play room with the door closed and wait until the storm is passed. Once he's done with the fit, he can come back out and join others. The thing is, when he really gets going he'll kick, scream, and break things in the room. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant. I want to get this problem under control before my baby comes because I don't want him to hurt the baby during one of these rampages. (He has already kicked my cat once out of anger) His mother wants to find a new way to handle this as well because nothing so far has worked. Please give me any ideas or advice I can use as well as pass on to her. Thank you!

Okay I know I have asked this question already but... Okay me and my Bf starting baby planning In Mid November. My period Came on Dec 8, which means I start Ov 14 days after. So I started Ov around Dec 19. Well I started freaking out and I decided to get on BC on Dec 18. Well my BF didn't know I was having doubts. He believed it was still a go on the baby (which means no protection no pulling out). So I started the BC and guess what, I started messing up after pill #3. Never took one the day it was meant to be taken and they were never on time, so I called i quits on Friday 1/2 when there were 6 pills left to be taken. So my period came Monday 1/5. The thing is I have been feeling nausea, tired, LOTZ of headaches well according to some research I have done I may begin to feel nausea as early as week 3!!! YES I know I thought it was too soon, BUT here I am with freaking nausea and headaches. My cousin said this bleeding is not my period and that there is a possibility that I might be prego. i don't even know if i was pregnant. if i was pregnant, i would've been about 5 or 6 weeks along. i didn't show at all, but i think that's normal for the first month. i had all of the symptoms except overeating/craving food. i missed my period, but i had 2 short days of on and off bleeding [which may have been first trimester bleeding?] yesterday i fell and hit my stomach and head, and now i'm bleeding a good 10 days before my should be period. and earlier, something came out of my vagina and it had arm-like things protruding from it...and eye like things. but it may just be me assuming things. it may just be because i'm stressed lately...but i don't know.

I am quite frustrated at the moment. The only signs/symptoms I have are slightly tender breasts, wanting to eat everything in sight, peeing frequently, being tired during the day, heightened sense of smell, and three very positive pregnancy tests. I know I should likely feel grateful that I don't feel sick right now, but I can't wrap my head around being pregnant when I feel great! Has anyone else felt similar to me?

i am 6 weeks pregnant and i have trouble keeping my prenatals down so i have been taking 2 flintstone vitamins a day. ive also been taking another 400 mcg folic acid supplement. is this too much folic acid? will it hurt me or the baby? i do plan on asking my doctor when i see her.

When i went to the doctors at 6 weeks pregnant my HCG levels were at 31,000. Is that good? He said the babys heart beat was detected on the ultra sound at 179. However i couldnt hear it since it was too early he said. So now im 7 weeks pregnant. Do i have to worry bout my HCG levels anymore?

This is my second pregnancy. My daughter is now 9 and I had her at 15. I also had an ectopic 5 months ago and am going in for an ultrasound on friday to meke sure this is in the right place. Did you ever feel like while TTC that you couldn't have children? I feel like through all of my cycles, when I see AF or a negative test I get so bummed like maybe I can't have kids.. I've been actively trying for about 6 months now, but really 5 because one cycle I didn't get to baby dance enough. Anyways, I went to my reproductive endocrinologist and ALL is fine. So everything was going normal. I had my period on october 29th than on december 3rd i took a test and found out i was pregnant! my periods are very abnormal so i was unsure of when i concieved. they said i should be about 9 weeks but i think its more like 8. so i had an ultra sound and the sac was an abnormal shape they said it was oval instead of round. than there was an embryo but no heart beat. Also they saw what they thought was a start of a baby. and they said my sac was the size of about 6 weeks. They said their is a very good chance i will miscary and i am so scared. they drew blood so that they can watch my hormone levels to see if they go up or down. but my sister had this happen to her (but not seeing the baby at all) around the same time and now the baby is born, and 5 months old! So what im asking is has this happened to anyone and it turned out fine? is there hope?

I had a growth scan today at 37 weeks 3 days pregnant and the baby is measuring at 6 lbs 4 oz. The doctor said this is fine but I can't help but think it's a bit on the small side. For those of you who have had growth scans, what did your baby weigh and do you think 6lbs 4oz is small for 37.5 weeks?

This morning I woke up and when I went to the bathroom, i had brown blood but only when I wiped. Everytime I went to the bathroom today, there was alittle brown spotting on the toilet paper so I put a tampon in and when I took it out, there was alittle brown and light pink on it but nothing heavy. Hi guys, I posted a question on here yesterday and I've learned more today and need more help. My original situation was that I was with ex bf for 6 months on and off. I found out about 5 months in he was living with his fiance and we split. After a couple of weeks she also found out he'd been with me and kicked him out. Stupidly i let him stay with me for a month until he found his own place. He left a week before xmas and is now back with her. I am now pregnant. His original reaction, yesterday was that he never wanted me to contact him again because he couldn't riisk he finding out. Then he contacted me today saying he was thinking about me. He called this eve and was being nice to start with, but then told me he wants me to have an abortion. He threatened me that if i ever let his fiance find out, he'd harm my family. I don't want an abortion - granted this situation sucks but i could never do that. I am scared he's going to hurt me if i don't agree to what he wants, i don't want to bring a child up in fear that he's going to do something awful to keep us a secret. What should i do? I'm horrified by what he said to me, i don't recognise him at all. Please help xx

I found out that my mom is pregnant with another kid. My step dad and her got married 10 years ago. I don't trust him at all. he was ok when i was little but now hes abusive. not physically but verbally and mentally although he's threatened to hit me. ive been kicked out once. at first my mom defended me but after a while she gave up. we barley talk now. I asked her to tell me about but she said no. She finds ways to avoid me. Like ill ask her to talk and she'll have to call someone because she "forgot". Now that i ask her about it she wont tell me anything. she'll say she doesn't know anything but ten minutes later i'll hear her on the phone talking to someone about how the dr told her stuff that she shouldn't be doing. and that's not normal for 6 months. But i find it strange that she wont tell me ANYTHING. She says when the baby comes i have to move down to the basement. It's not redone but apparently my step dad and his dad r going to redo it. I asked her when he's gonna start it and she said probably never. So i'm stuck without a room when the thing pops out. I plan on moving out when i turn 18 but i don't want the baby to grow up like my other 2 half-siblings. (my brother is 9 and my sister is 7) they ALWAYS get what they want when they want. and if their mommy and daddy get them something they call their grandparents. My brother got a dirt bike when he was 6, a tv, and has 2 electric guitars even though he has no clue how to play them. my sister has a tv, a crap load of dolls, too many cloths, and a ping pong table. I have nothing that good. the only thing i have is a tv but that's from my neighbor. my real dad gets me everything i need/want. (phone and ipod) I don't understand why my mom wont tell me anything anymore and i want to know why. She avoids me and ignores me. My step dads abusive and my real dad lives 380 miles away. I don't know why the thought of the baby bugs me either. when ever someone brings it up im almost in tears every time. I am 16 and my mom is 41. i have grown up...too fast. my mom stopped doing almost everything for me when i was 11 except shopping and cooking dinner but thats only because she cooks for the 3 other people living in my house. i clean and watch her kids for her when her husband "can't" or is "working"

I have had a rocky relationship with this guy since the start. In July him and I split up and I screwed around with this other guy (mostly out of hurt). All I did was party to keep myself from seeing the bigger picture. Me and the other guy hooked up twice and wore a condom both times. Then me and my bf got back together and he busted in me many times. No condom. Now I'm pregnant. I'm 98% sure that this baby is my bf's but he isn't. He keeps bringing it up and making me feel like s**t. I'm 6 months along so I can feel her inside me but it's not a happy thing. I have a hard enough time keeping this pregnancy a posative thing because I gave a baby girl up for adoption in '06. Now I'm back to wanting to cry every time I see a baby. I never wanted to be a mother. I wasn't ready then and I'm not ready now. He always wanted a child. I can't go through another adoption I'd kill myself. Plus he want's the kid so if it is his, great. But what if it's not? The more unsure he is the more unsure I am. How can I go through labor and bonding if I'm not sure? Even with a DNA test it takes at least a week for the results to come back. So what am I supposed to do untill then? I am now starting school and I don't know if I can cope with the stress. I have one more class left before I graduate high school. The only thing that has kept me back this whole time and I've struggled with my whole life. F***ing Math. I feel like my whole world is collapsing in on me. I hate this. I just want to crawl in a hole and hide, or die... I don't feel like I'm ready for life. I just don't want to feel this way anymore. Can someone please give me some advice? Or even your opinion on this mess?

Im super happy that Im pregnant but I look like Im about 6 months pregnant instead of six weeks loll.Im scheduled for my scan in 10 days to check baby size and if there are multiples.Anyone experience this?and also forgot to mention this is my second pregnancy.Oh and also (sorry if TMI) I have so much trapped wind lol...maybe that's the reason? Hi everyone! I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant again. I'm not positive how far along I am, as I have irregular cycles but I'm guessing about 6 weeks. Anyway, I had a miscarriage in the beginning of October. Is this too soon to be pregnant again? Should I worry?

Hi there I am 13 weeks and 5 days pregnant and very emotional, my husband went to Canada on tour for 3-4 months yesterday we have only been married for just over a month, my job is very physical and as i only work 6 hours a day i am only allowed a 15 min break, i went to the Dr this morning to see if i could get some help or even someone to help me along, but i feel that what was said was completely the opposite, she may as well told me to pull myself together and stop being so emotional (i cried my eyes out) she also stated least he is not in Afghan or something but to me at the moment that is irrelevant its not where he is its the fact my rock has gone,, i spoke to my manager over the phone (have had 4 days off to re-coupe and relax hasn't worked) i told her i was worried about my job and losing it and she said there was nothing she can do about that fact, she commented on how there is another pregnant lady in my workplace who is having a hard time with her pregnancy and she still manages to go into work fair enough but that lady doesn't do anything physical she just sits around talking to the managers etc all day, whereas from the min i get in i am non stop i feel its very unfair for her to compare me to another lady am i wrong to feel low about that? i know my pregnancy does not help, my blood pressure is high i get very dizzy quickly and very exhausted, and as i am only allowed 15min break that does not even give me time to eat a sandwhich and have a warm drink. i feel i have no support from work or the Dr and i am struggling with my emotions and the pregnancy i feel a failure that i cannot even enjoy my baby at this stage because i am so low. I just don't know what to do, My mum says that i should just go back to work and throw myself into it but my state of mind is not letting me do that and to be fair with the way i am feeling i don't want to i want to relax (find that very hard to do) and nobody seems to understand that. Can anyone help me? Give me some advice what to do I have already spoken to my manager about needing longer for my breaks but she said as we get paid for it and the hours i do thats all i am entitled to, if i need a 5 min sit down i am allowed but not anymore time than that.

These people that I work with are getting on my nerves. I am 6 months pregnant (24 weeks in a few days). People that I have already told when I am due keep asking me the same question and when I tell them, they say oh, you still have a long way to go. That is the same thing they said when I was 4 months and I did have a long way to go. I dont think that I have a LONG way to go. Am I being sensitive, or do I really have a LONG way to go? Excuse me for being sensitive, I cry at the least thing and I know that a lot of things are bothering me that shouldnt. I was just asking a question!

ok my last period was november 16, 2008. my expected period was december 14, 2008.... its now january 6 and im now 3 weeks late. i usually get it every 30 days give or take 2 days late or early. coul i be pregnant?? i took a few hpts and they were negative, i took one at a week and 4 days late and the other and a doctors urine test at 2 weeks late. the doctor told me to go back when my next period was sopposed to come (2 weeks after i saw her) if i still didnt have a period. i dont have stds and all that stuff lol. me and my boyfriend arent planning or preventing lol symptoms ive had and still have: -3 week late period.. i usually get sore boobs before it comes, they never got sore lol -lower back pain in the middle closer to the right side -a pinching kind of dull cramping behind my pubic bone in the middle but more on the right side -i had random headaches for the first week late -more sleepy since a few days after period was late -i get car sick alot easier now -tiny tiny bit naseous occasionally -boobs look a little fuller -boobs a little sore on the top if i push on them -im bloated -below my bellybutton is round lol -greenish-blue veins in my boobs? -darker nipples -last night there was alot of white looking bumps on my areolas -pretty emotional more -if my belt is to tight its a bit umcomfy now, had to move up a hole lol im NOT stressed im always happy lol no exercise im very lasy lol i eat alot, always have no diets i weight like 134, im 5'3" im 18 boyfriends 20 what do you guys think??anybody had all these symptoms, tested negative on urine tests and ended up pregnant?????! please be NICE lol thanks!! =]] ~if i am i have the cutest way to tell my boyfriend.. get baby booties a pair of blue and a pair of pink and put a blue and a pink bootie in a little box and wrap it and give it to him, he will be happy lol~ good idea??? sorry so long!! lol

I have had 6 losses and only one healthy pregnancy so I forget what it feels like to be pregnant and Im incredibly nervous about having another loss.

im 7 mo pregnant and my job is "under the table" i only make 400$ a mo, for working 50 hr weeks being a nanny. i cant handle the stress anymore and i need to quit, its bad on my health. the thing is i don't own a car, and i have no credit because i JUST turned 18. my boyfriend and i are still together and living with my parents. he has a full time job and works 6 days a week so he is saving for a car. what kind of help can i get from the state right now? can i get assistance with rent or buying a car? i am planning on quitting my job and TRYING to find another one but not many people will hire a pregnant woman right now.

I am 17 weeks pregnant and my husband and I have known sense I was about 6 weeks along. He seems to keep distancing himself from me. We recently took in a baby goat from my grandma. It needs to be bottle fed. At first my husband really liked the idea, he said it would give us good practice for when the baby comes. Well now he can't take it when that baby goat cries or wakes us up at night. He has gotten very angry and told me that if the goat wasn't gone when he got back from work that he was going to kill it. I know it is just a goat and not the same as a baby but it worries me that he can't take the crying. I mean if he can't take a baby goat crying how is he going to be able to handle a baby? I know he is under a lot of stress. Just thought I would see if anyone else has a husband that acted distant or angry when you were pregnant. I know yalls storied probably don't have anything to do with a goat lol but this is just one thing I could think of where he acted like this. He wanted kids. I think he is just scared. He doesn't really talk about it.

I would love to hear from other mothers who grew up without a mother in their lives for all or most of their childhood. I won't get into my long life story but here is the basics. My parents split when I was a baby. My mother was in a a very physically abusive relationship and she didn't take good care of me when I was 3. My dad got custody of me and my mother moved from Ontario to Alberta and basically walked out of my life. I saw her for 6 weeks each summer for a few years then I basically stopped visiting. She moved back to Ontario when I became pregnant with my first child. We tried to establish a relationship but she became super religious and IMO, a little unbalanced in the head. We talk on the phone or by email maybe twice a year. There is a lot more to the story and there is so much pain when I even think about her and how she messed my life up. My dad did the best he could but I feel like a part of my life is missing. As a mother, I can't imagine being without my children for one day, I just don't understand how someone can leave their child. I came here with this story because I want to reach out to other mothers who suffered growing up without their mom. I wonder if others struggle with motherhood because they didn't have a female role model in their life. I have a loving husband who is really supportive and two awesome kids, a boy 6 and a girl 8. I love my kids more than life itself yet sometimes I find myself wondering what to do because I have a hard time relating to them. I wonder what normal families do, what moms do with their kids and the things they talk about. I also suffer form chronic pain, I can't work and it limits me in what activities we can do as a family so I feel guilty about that too. I do feel I am a good mother yet I second guess myself all the time. Please feel free to share your story and your struggles. You can PM me if you don't want to share publicly. She was jelous of me so we never got along. It was an emotionally abusive situation so I moved out when I was 17. I do have a better relationship with my step mom now but she doesn't take my children for visits or anything. It helps knowing I am not alone. I think all of us could benefit from councelling. I would like to go but I am a little scared. I also suffer from panic attacks but I am going to push myself to talk to someone. I can't pick a best answer because they are all great. Its only been 6 days since we had sex, but I'm axious to take a pregnancy test. I know I'm pregnant because we had sex the day before I was due to start my period, and my period did not start the next day. My menstrual cycle is like clockwork and my nickname is 'Fertile Mertyl' so will the pregnancy test show positive this soon? I know the zygote / blastocyst doesn't even implant itself into the uterus until a week after fertilization, but what changes the pregancy hormones in the urine to show a positive on the test?

Hi, I'm 22 years old and have a 10 month old son. My last REAL period was on October 22nd and my husband and I have been trying for another baby. I was 100% certain I was pregnant again. I remember the symptoms, but here is the kicker. I started having light spotting 2 weeks past my missed period and thought it may have been cervical erosion. (The spotting would start when we'd have sex.) That spotting went on for a few days and then went away. The spotting then started again a week later and that went for a week and then it stopped again and then started bleeding a few days later and it was light bleeding (which is not normal for me if I'm getting my period.) I'd wipe and the blood was watered down. Then the bleeding stopped for a couple of weeks and then my husband and I had sex again and then I immediately started bleeding again and it still hasn't stopped. I'm having heavy bleeding with small little clots with NO cramps only a bloated feeling which makes me nervous. I normally have severe cramps with heavy bleeding to the point where I cannot walk it hurts so bad. So, this is definitely not normal for me. My basal body temperature is still high and hasn't come down. It's been going between 97.6-98.3 and my normal temperature while bleeding is between 95.6-96.2. So, this is another reason why I think I may be pregnant. My temperature stayed high with my son. Here is the kicker. I can take any pregnancy test and it will come back negative. Took me till I was 10 weeks to get a positive with my son. I think I'm running into the same problem and we don't have insurance at the moment. So, until I know for sure I don't want to see a doctor. Does this sound like subchorionic bleeding to you? Anybody that's been through this that can help me? PLEASE!

I am 16 weeks and my appetite is really starting to kick into overdrive. I lost 6 pounds in 1st trimester due to morning sickness but i have just about gained that back now. I havent gained anything on top of that yet though but before I got pregnant I had a miscarriage and put on 18 pounds due to stress. that makes me overweight and i dont want to get too big. this is 2nd pregnancy (3rd if you include miscarriage). I just need some ideas on how to avoid eating everything in the house.
