Resolved Question: Braxton Hicks with upset tummy-is this normal?? Im 29 weeks-just!?
(Tue, 16 Dec 2008 19:28:40 GMT)
Im a bit worried, i had a few Braxton Hicks contractions today, one earlier and two within a minute of eachother, and all were accompanied by an upset stomach/diarrhea (sorry for the graphic info!). They felt like a period pain although i dont really recall my tummy going hard. This couldnt be early labour could it? I feel fine now but im only just on the mark of 29 weeks. My baby's measurements were unusually large and almost all of them were off the scale at my 22 week scan. this doesnt mean he is plotting to make an appearance does it??! Some advice from fellow mums and pregnant ladies would be amazing, thanks so much xxx

Voting Question: 5 year old with stomach virus?
(Tue, 16 Dec 2008 15:58:57 GMT)
It started with just a fever. Usually between 100 and 101 at the highest. Then come the diarrhea. And today hes been vomiting and complaining about his belly hurting alot. What can I do to make this poor baby feel better? Also Im 29 weeks pregnant, is it pretty likely that I'll get it to? Ive been laying with him on the couch all morning.

Resolved Question: Diarrhea and constipation all at once...is it another sign of early pregnancy?
(Sun, 30 Nov 2008 18:17:57 GMT)
OK, so I have been asking A LOT of questions lately about possibly being pregnant lol, so just bare with me. My husband and I have been ttc....I ovulated around nov. 22/23.....husband and I bd nov. 16 17 18 19 21 23 24 25 26 28 and 29.... ( a lot what can i say lol) but anyways, ever since the morning of thanksgiving I havent been feeling right which would be about 5dpo. Dizzy, very nauseas, diarrhea AND constipation yea I know thats weird....TMI and im sry, but i cant go at first, then when I DO go, its diarrhea. But to continue, the diarrhea has slowed down, Im more constipated now. I keep hydrated, and Im a healthy eater. I am now about 8dpo and the cramping hasn't stopped. Im not due for my period for another week and this IS NOT LIKE ME AT ALL!!! I NEVER and I mean NEVER have ANY pms symptoms except HORRIBLE cramping the day before my period is due. But this cramping is light and annoying, not painful, and its wway too early for me to have period symptoms!!! Any advise would be great!!! Baby dust to all ttc and congrats to those who are!!! Thank you everyone. And please no smart@$$ answers, serious ones only. Thanks again!!!

Voting Question: Could I still be pregnant after taking 3 (Negative) hpt's?
(Tue, 18 Nov 2008 08:09:45 GMT)
TTC married 29 yo sexually active female, never been pregnant, not on BC...cycles 27-30 days per month...last period began 19 Sept, almost 5 weeks late now...experiencing nausea, dizziness, aversion to certain smells and food, moderate abdominal cramping and breast tenderness, unusual acne breakout, dry eyes, discomfort with wearing contact lenses (also some more than usual protein build-up), gas mainly at night, nausea occurs usually after meals, moderate heartburn, excessive clear discharge, diarrhea and constipation, frequent urination, unusually thirsty...I've taken an EPT test and 2 New Choice tests (from Dollar Tree) and all have read negative. The last test was taken 12 days ago. I've scheduled an appt for 24 Nov w/ my physician for blood work. Is there a possibility I may be pregnant even though my urine tests read negative? I just need some input before I see my dr. Thank you for your (mature) answers!
Many users on here stated that New Choice hpt's from Dollar Tree were legit...but then again that was just their opinion. Also, I read several articles here on the internet about dry eyes, discomfort w/ contacts, and thirstiness being linked to pregnancy symptioms. I won't rule anything out until I speak to my physician and I appreciate your taking the time to review my question and give me some answers.

Resolved Question: What are signs of preterm labor?
(Fri, 12 Sep 2008 15:14:51 GMT)
i'm 28 weeks and 6 day's pregnant and my last ob/gyn visit was sept 3.They did a thing like a pap smear to see if i'm leaking or not, i don't know what the results is yet. But here's what i've been feeling, cramps in my lower belly for the past 3 day's off and on,stomach tightening, have bad back aches, feel very tired, feel morning sickness again,i get pain on my bottom, and this part is gross, but i've been having some diarrhea too.
I wasn't sure if this was normal or if i should call the nurse's at my ob/gyn office.
I also wanted to know what the signs of preterm labor is?

Resolved Question: TMI, but i need to know lol..?
(Wed, 03 Sep 2008 07:30:56 GMT)
so i cant believe i'm asking this- but i don't want to ask anyone in person haha. i would ask my doctor but i see her monday, and don't want to call her unless its urgent.
anyway- usually i go poop every other day, or once every three days- sometimes even less.
but today i have gone three times already- strange. my poo has also been softer (not diarrhea, but just soft stools)
i'm 29 weeks pregnant. i know diarrhea can be a sign that labor is near, but i'm only going more often and having soft stools.. just wondering if that could be a sign i might be going to preterm labor, or am i just over paranoid lol??

Resolved Question: Im afraid i might be pregnant.. ?
(Tue, 26 Aug 2008 04:19:11 GMT)
When me and my b/f had sex on the 10th, for like the second time ever, the condom broke...He didn't cum, but i researched on-line and found out there's a pre-*** that can get you pregnant too. My last period started 29 of june so i should start it again around the beginning of this week and I'm really stressing out! I took the test last saturday and it was negative..my breasts are kinda sore. but it happens to me before my period, and i have some discharge: white and watery. I think that's normal.. Saturday i had really bad cramps too.. And today upset stomach and diarrhea. :/ Please help!! or I'm gonna have another sleepless night! :[
And by the way Im not asking people if i should have sex or not. Im 18 and have been with the same person for a while now. So please dont tell me what to do. :]

Resolved Question: Are these symptoms because of an SSRI "poop out"?
(Sun, 27 Jul 2008 02:02:01 GMT)
I'm a 29 year old female, diagnosed with panic disorder 10 years ago. Was on Paxil 40mg for 8 years. No problems with it & found it to work well for my anxiety and panic. Last summer, I switched to Lexapro because it is safer for women to take if they choose to get pregnant. I have been taking the Lexapro for about a year at 20mg. I was doing fine up until 3 weeks ago. I left for a trip (first time on a plane in 10 years) suffered some major anxiety during the trip (used lorazepam to help) and haven't stabilized since. I've had moderate diarrhea for almost the entire month since our return (except the week when my doc put me on Cipro) and my anxiety is getting worse. My psych is increasing Lexapro to 30 mg. I'm not seeing much change. When a SSRI "poops out", can you begin to experience diarrhea as a side effect or even a withdrawal symptom? I'm working closely with a general practitioner to see if it's a stomach issue and my psych to see if it's an anxiety issue.
I also have no appetite and am experiencing a lot of the same symptoms I first had before I was diagnosed with panic disorder. Anyone have insight or can relate to this?
Very interesting note about the lorazepam. I did think of that as a possibility of the diarrhea. I did wean myself off of it with my doc's help, and the amount of time I was on it didn't seem to cause withdrawal. I get my stool sample results back today or tomorrow.
I haven't taken any over-the-counter meds since this all started. No vitamins either.

Resolved Question: Abortion.. What are your views?
(Mon, 09 Jun 2008 01:27:41 GMT)
Trapped... Time Has Run Out For Over 49 Million Americans.
By Another's Choice..
Who is trapped by the "choice" of abortion? Both the mother and the pre-born child. Abortion is legal through all nine months of pregnancy in the United States. The infamous Roe v. Wade case legalized abortion throughout the United States. The lesser-known companion case, Doe v. Bolton, defined the "health" exception. This case solidified Roe in allowing abortion through all nine months if the pregnancy threatens the life or health of the mother. The vague word used here is "health." What does "health" mean to you? Doe v. Bolton defined health to include, "physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman's age - relevant to the wellbeing of the patient." Essentially, Doe v. Bolton opened the door for "health" to mean anything a doctor or woman wanted it to mean. Some states have laws regulating late term abortions, and some states simply have no willing providers. However, women are free to go to other states to obtain one. Late-term abortions may be less common, but they are still legal.
Didn't the Partial Birth Abortion Ban outlaw late-term abortions? No. In the 2007 decision, Gonzales v. Carhart, the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 was upheld. The "Ban" merely regulates one specific method used in late-term abortions (D&X). Other late-term abortion methods, such as Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) and a modified version of partial birth abortion, may still legally be used to kill a child up to the moment of birth.
A woman is often trapped by the decision to abort. You probably know someone who has aborted her child. Why did she "choose" abortion? Did she want an abortion or was she coerced or "strongly encouraged" by her boyfriend, husband, or parents? Let's face it; there are many reasons why women abort. One study found that 64% of women surveyed said they "felt pressured by others" to abort. Also, 54% said they were "not sure about the decision at the time." Does this sound like a "woman's right to choose?" More than 49 million children have been legally trapped by "choice" in the United States since 1973. Time is running out for millions more. With more than 3,500 surgical abortions performed in the United States every day, you most likely have been, or will be, involved with someone considering abortion.
You owe it to yourself and those around you to make an educated decision about abortion.
Unlocking The Language Trap...
My Body, My Choice!
The term "pro-choice' avoids talking about what you are choosing. Most people agree that we can be "pro-choice" about many things without offending anyone (i.e. chocolate or vanilla, paper or plastic). The term "choice" is value-neutral and meaningless unless we have some kind of idea what we are choosing. Society generally limits people's choices when it comes to behaviors that are harmful or potentially harmful to other people. We, as a society, are "anti-choice" when it comes to theft, arson, murder, and a whole host of other actions.
A Woman's "Right"/Freedom to Choose
It sounds almost patriotic. Our great American freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, etc. Individual rights are important, but you will not find "a right to abortion" anywhere in the Constitution. We have come too far to reduce a woman's "right" to mean the "right to kill her own children".
It's Just Tissue
Consider the following facts: Simple tissue down not have a beating heart, brain waves, fingerprints, and unique DNA. A woman can carry a baby with a different blood type from her own. After the moment of fertilization, nothing new is added to the baby except oxygen, nutrition, and time. The only differences between a newborn and a pre-born baby are size, level of development, environment, and degree of dependency. All of these facts confirm the reality that you are a person worthy of protection from the moment of fertilization.
A "Wanted" Child
Does your value depend on the degree that someone wants you? Let's be honest- a child is a child. How could any baby be called unwanted when there are over one million couples waiting, hoping, and praying for a chance to adopt a child?
"Safe" Abortion
Many young women believed this lie until it was too late. The book, Lime 5, documents over 200 cases of women injured or killed by illegal, so-called "safe" abortions. The end result of an abortion is a dead baby, and the potential for cervical cancer, breast cancer, infertility, and psychological pain. Where's the "safe" part?
"Back-Alley" Abortions
According to the Centers for Disease Control, 39 maternal deaths occurred due to illegal abortions in 1972 (the year prior to the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationally). Any loss of life is tragic, but this is nowhere near the alleged "thousands of deaths by back-alley abortions."

Resolved Question: pains, nausea, and....kidney infections?
(Thu, 24 Apr 2008 08:44:22 GMT)
i am 29 wks pregnant and last week i kept feeling like i had to pee but only a few trickles would come out. i assumed it was my son just laying on my bladder. but now this week i have really bad back pains. not down low from the pregnancy but higher, kind of where my kidneys are, pretty much in the middle of my back right below my bra snap. so it is both sides and hurts really bad. also for the past 4-5 day i have been loss of appetite, nauseas, throwing up, today started diarrhea.when i pee it is painful in my lower abdomen, no burning or pain where i pee. no smell, no blood, nothing else different. i see my doc tomorrow i plan on asking but any of you ladies experience this? could it be a kidney infection? almost every single time i give my urine to my doc they said i have a UTI because if high white counts in my urine but every time they do the culture to make sure it is neg. hmmm. hope it's all good, prob won't know for sure till friday after culture.
thanks ladies, but if it is an infection and that bad wouldn't i have blood and a really bad fever? cause i don't have either of that. i guess everyone is different in symptoms. won't i be good to wait to see my doc in the morning? i have an apt in like 8 hours and if i had an infections i have no idea how long i have had it. i would never do anything to hurt my baby since we have been waiting for him for a very long time. we lost our daughter and i can't loose another. i have gone to the hospital for so many things and they just keep sending me home. so i didn't want to go all the way over there to wait 4 hrs and be sent home. i think i'll call my doc right now and see what they think. thanks ladies i really appreciate everyones help!
called doc they said come in first thing in the morning. so in like 6 hrs. i think i will be up till them anyways hurting too bad to sleep. told doc symptoms and she think i have a kidney infection or stones:( we'll see tomorrow....or i guess in the morning.

Resolved Question: Continual neg hpts with increasing symptoms?
(Fri, 25 Jan 2008 02:12:09 GMT)
Is it possible to keep testing negative on hpt but to having increasing symptoms of pregnancy and actually be pregnant? My husband and I haven't been ttc... just trying to let fate take over... so I really don't think I'm imagining things. It started off with a light morning nausea and lightheadedness, then feeling a little more tired than usual. Over the past week, I've started having headaches, extreme exhaustion, random breast pains (this can be an achy feeling or a sharp pain... lasts anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more), and off and on sore nipples. Today, about an hour after lunch, I started to get dizzy every time I stood up and feeling so weak. It felt like after lifting weights at the gym... when my muscles just can't take another rep. What do you guys think? I don't feel like I'm sick... Oh, and bloating with alternating constipation/diarrhea. Sorry tmi. First day of last period was Dec 20 and usually a 29 day cycle.Appreciate your imput!

Resolved Question: 29 Weeks Pregnant?
(Sun, 20 Jan 2008 23:21:36 GMT)
I am 29 weeks & 5 days pregnant & the other day while I was standing & talking to my boyfriends mother, I felt really dizzy, nauseous & started sweating & getting hot. I ran to the bathroom because I thought I was going to vomit, but didn't. Lately I've been very thirsty & I try to drink a lot & I've noticed I've started getting diarrhea (sorry t.m.i) & I've been feeling a little nauseous & crampy. Could these be signs of dehydration? I have a doctor appointment coming up Wednesday, but should I wait until then to let my doctor know? Or call now & let him know? I know dehydration can be dangerous during pregnancy because if untreated, it can lead to pre-term labor. But just curious as to what I should do. Thanks in advance.

Resolved Question: Moms, you know how I feel...?
(Sun, 18 Nov 2007 05:36:27 GMT)
I'm 34 weeks pregnant today, my baby girl Alexa is not due until December 29, 2007. I'm so anxious and impatient to see her and hold her. In the last three days, I've been VERY exhausted for no reason, my activity hasn't changed a bit. I've had alot more normal discharge lately, and my braxton hicks are actually starting to get painful! (sorry tmi, but Ive also had diarrhea for about 2 weeks straight!) Are these signs that labor is on its way, or am I just dreaming? Sorry, I just needed to vent! Thank you for being honest and understanding!

Voting Question: owwww!help, in a lot of PAIN!!?
(Sat, 01 Sep 2007 19:55:42 GMT)
I am 29 weeks pregnant and today have been in a lot of pain..been experiencing really strong cramps, which feel like period pains, they last for a few minutes then come back a few times, then nothing for a few hours? They have been so painful that I am actually close to tears..also been having bad diarrhea too..My mum said it is probably just the baby sitting in a weird position, but I dont think so..luckily they have gone at the moment, but I just know they are coming back! Not sure if these pains are braxton hicks, or just one of the unfortunate pains of pregnancy, or something I should actually be worried about.
I have had the occasional braxton hicks contraction up until now but nothing this painful! Also, I have had a normal risk-free pregnancy with no bleeding or anything like that. This is my first pregnancy so totally clueless, any advice is much appreciated!

Resolved Question: labor contractions or preterm labor???
(Fri, 31 Aug 2007 16:12:56 GMT)
I am 29 weeks pregnant with my first child. I have an e. coli infection and a history of unexplained vaginal bleeding at 25 weeks. Last night I got the worst pains ever. I don't really know what contractions feel like but I can explain what I felt. I had an enormous amount of pressure on my pelvic bone area with really bad menstrual like cramps (I actually felt like my period would start any minute) and nausea with diarrhea(sorry if its TMI). I could feel the tension in my uterus n bottom almost like I was pushing and they would come and go. I roughly counted how many times this happened and it was about 15 in an hour and a half. This was about 3 in the morning so all I wanted to do was sleep and didn't think much of anything but now I'm reading up a little and it's a little scary. I am still having a little pressure with the tension every once in a little while. Could anyone with previous experience please help me understand what this could have been?
I forgot to mention that the e. coli infection is actually in my bladder and not my intestines so the diarrhea and nausea isn't from that.

Resolved Question: Could this be heat stroke or something else?
(Tue, 17 Jul 2007 23:18:14 GMT)
I,m 24 weeks pregnant and for the lat 2 days I've been taking my kids to their swimming lessons and have been out in the sun for about an hour each time. Then in the afternoon to keep them cool we go back for about another hour. It's been about 29-31 degrees C here(sorry don't know what that is in F). There isn't any shade at the pool because of the way it was built. When we go in the afternoon I go in the pool as well to cool off. When I get home I feel very nauseous and have diarrhea. Could this be heat stroke or just another perk of pregnancy? I want to be able to take my kids out but if it's dangerous for me or the baby I'll stop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And getting someone else to take them isn't an option.

Resolved Question: On Yasmin, Could I be Pregnant?
(Mon, 25 Jun 2007 21:46:50 GMT)
During my last period (placebo pill week) I was taking antibiotics. I noticed toward the end of my period when it was tapering off I had some egg white fertile mucus. I had sex a few times around that time. It is now 29 days later and I have taken a full pack of pills and have taken some extra to delay my period because of a vacation. My stomach feels terrible, and has on and off for about 3 weeks. Going from cramps to diarrhea to nausea. This is abnormal for me and I am concerned it is a sign of pregnancy. I take the pill religiously. Is it possible the antibiotics caused the pill to leave my system more quickly causing me to ovulate at the end of my last placebo week? I am going to stop the pills to have my period soon, and see if it shows. Anyone get pregnant on Yasmin? are the signs different?

Resolved Question: Please help!!!!?
(Fri, 12 Jan 2007 20:42:16 GMT)
I have not had sex since before my last period which started December 8. I had close genital contact with my boyfriend on December 18. He did not penetrate and he ejaculated outside of me. I wiped it off immediately. I ovulated on New Year's weekend (cervical mucus monitoring for two months). I tend to have longer cycles...anywhere between 29 and 35 days, usually closer to 33. My last cycle was 35 days. Today would be day 35. I went to the doctor yesterday, had a pregnancy test and he said it was negative. I've had usual PMS symptoms for a week (gas, bloating, breast soreness, nipple sensitivity, diarrhea) but they went away last night and this morning. This usually happens when I start my period, so I was thinking that this is a good sign, since I would think that those symptoms would stay if I was pregnant, right? Please no rude comments. I'm very stressed out about this and I will be more careful next time. Is there a chance the doctor was wrong? Thanks.
I took another pregnancy test today. I got e.p.t. becuase I've heard it's one of the most accurate and I expected my period today. I've heard it's 99% accurate on the first day of your missed period and today would be the day my period should come. It was negative.
